Documented This & That: Our Day Trip to San Francisco

Hi Crafty Friends!  I'm back today with another entry in my Documented This & That journal.  Since my Craft Room is serving as my home remodel staging area and I've been busy playing the role of construction supervisor, I've had some difficulty finding time to get crafty in my beloved space.

So instead of making cards, I've been making entries into my journal.  Do you journal?  I find that it's very soothing for the soul. And journaling in my Documented This & That journal is a lot like scrapbooking…my first love :)

Today's journal entry is about my family's recent trip over to the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco, California.  Have you been there?  Have you thought about going?  Well, the next time you find yourself in northern California, YOU. MUST. GO. THERE!

I hope you can read my handwriting, if you choose to.

We went in June, and the weather was absolutely gorgeous that day!  If you know San Francisco, then you know that even in the summer, the weather can be tricky.

This place is amazing!  There is so much to see and do.  The Steinhart Aquarium was simply the best!  We love going to the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, California, but the next time we want to go there, we'll just skip on over to the California Academy of Sciences instead.  It will cut our driving time in half, I'm sure.

So there you have it, folks.  I hope you have enjoyed this because I'll be back with more entries.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Until next time, happy crafting!

Say it with Stripes Thank You for CCC06

Howdy hey, Crafty Friends!  It's Monday, and it's time for another fun Creative Challenge Club challenge.  However, this time, it's not a sketch.  It's Color Challenge CCC06, and it's a good one!

Whoever came up with this color combo is now my new BFF because I LOVE these colors together.  Seriously!

I have been having quite the love affair with Crushed Curry over the past couple of weeks, so I was delighted to play with it one more time for this challenge.

This card was fun to create!  I kept it simple and straight to the point using the new Watercolor Thank You and Work of Art stamp sets, Typeset Designer Series Paper, and Banners and Stars Framelits Dies.

Before I stamped that watercolor swoosh over my sentiment, I stamped off, which tones it down a bit.

The stripes are a little dizzying, but I love them and I hope that you like them too!  I love the sketches we have used to create previous projects for the Creative Challenge Club, but this one was particularly fun because I love these colors so much.  Yes, even Basic Black :)

Well, that's all for today, folks.  Be sure to play along with us.  Thanks so much for stopping by!  Until next time, happy crafting!

Happily Ever After

Hi Crafty Friends!  I can't believe it, but someone in my family is getting married!  My little cousin!  She's not exactly little anymore, but she'll always be my "little cousin" since she is younger than me.

The last time we went to a wedding was in 2013.  The card I made for my friend and her groom, the Happy I Do Day Card, is still a favorite of mine, and it's still being pinned to this day.

Well, with the good news, I couldn't wait to craft a beautiful card to let my cousin know how happy I am for her and the groom-to-be!  I wanted lots of color, so I whipped out the Big News Stamp Set...it's come in quite handy here lately...and the Petite Petals Stamp Set and coordinating punch, and went to work.

I consulted with my Color Coach because I sometimes struggle with which colors to use and decided to go "big."  I chose Strawberry Slush, Rich Razzleberry, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Sahara Sand.  If you don't have our Color Coach, I highly recommend getting one.  It's one of the best investments you'll ever make.

It took me a few passes before I fell in love with this card.  No kidding...I wasn't crazy about this card at first, but now I LOVE it!  And I hope that you like it too.

Well, that's all for today, folks.  You will find all of the products I used to create this card below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store, or click any of the links below to go right to that item.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Until next time, happy crafting!
