Like the other two cards I shared last week, when Patty, Cindee and I got together earlier this month, we made this dreamy Dragonfly Dreams Card featuring the Dragonfly Dreams Bundle (Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set and Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies).
Our
design inspiration came from a card shared by Stampin' Up!'s
co-founder, Shelly Gardner, at Stampin' Up!'s OnStage event in early
November. I don't have a picture of it, but I would say it looks very
similar to the one I created below.
For our background, we used the new Watercolor Pencils, some Watercolor Paper and an Aqua Painter.
The watercolor pencils we used are:
- Daffodil Delight
- Pumpkin Pie
- Melon Mambo
- Rich Razzleberry
Using a heavy hand, I colored on the four colors. I then went over the colors in a zigzag pattern with the Aqua Painter and blended them. I used a bit more water than usual because my goal was a splotchy look, and I got just what I wanted.
After letting the watercolor background dry, I finished my card off by flicking on some drops of Gold Wink of Stella, added some Gold Thread and a large die cut dragonfly cut from Shimmery White Cardstock, and stamped my sentiment in Archival Basic Black ink. Lastly, I added my card front onto a Mambo Melon card base.
