The World is Better Because of You

I love teachers, so this card was a joy to create! I have so many favorite teachers from elementary school, high school and college. How about you?

For this card, I grabbed my Hydrangea Hill Suite of products and got right to work. The sentiment was easy to pick because it says it all--the world is better because of you...teachers!

I tried something new with my design for this The World is Better Because of You Card. Instead of using a full card base that folds in the middle, I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Highland Heather cardstock and covered it with a piece of the same size Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper and used it as my base.

I then cut a piece of 3-1/4" x 11" piece of Gorgeous Grape cardstock, which is scored in half at 5-1/2", and then adhered a 3" x 5-1/4" piece of striped Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper to the front for my card front. I then adhered the Gorgeous Grape piece to my card base to achieve the new look.

I then die cut three hydrangeas from a piece of Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper in three different shades of blue and purple. I then stamped the leaves for my hydrangeas in Black Memento Ink and stamped them using Old Olive ink with the watercolor leaves in the Hydrangea Haven Stamp Set to fill them in. I also die cut one set of open leaves from a piece of Old Olive cardstock using the Hydrangea Dies.

To finish off this The World is Better Because of You Card, I die cut an adorable border to add to the bottom of my sentiment piece from Seaside Spray cardstock using the Ornate Borders Dies. I tied on a bow at the base of my front hydrangea using the Gorgeous Grape 3/8" Sheer Ribbon and added a few Pastel Pearls.

I just love how this card turned out! It's so feminine and pretty, and it oozes gratitude, which was my goal.
