SNEAK PEEK: Donut Birthday Wishes

Donuts don't exactly scream birthday, but I thought one was perfect for this Donut Birthday Wishes Card!  With all of the fun designs in the Cherry On Top Designer Series Paper Stack, I just HAD to make a punch art donut.

I borrowed my design from a card I pinned weeks ago to my Cards :: All Occasions Pinterest Board.  I fashioned my donut using the Circles Collection Framelits Dies (the 4th largest one), 1-3/4" Circle Punch and 3/4" Circle Punch.

Once I got the donut figured out, I double die cut the white circle, and die cut a large circle in the top center of my card base (the Bermuda Bay patterned piece).

There was little paper wasted because the large circle I die cut from the card base was flipped over and used in the background (the piece the donut is on).  BAM--the BEST part!

My sentiment is from the Remembering Your Birthday Stamp Set.  I stamped it in VersaMark Ink and used White Stampin' Emboss Powder to punch up the color on the Watermelon Wonder Cardstock.

I just love this card.  I know I say that about most of my cards (shameless!), but there's something special about this one.  It's so whimsical and fun!

Since only a minimal amount of products are currently available, I will update this post with the Supply List once all of the products become available on June 2nd.

Don't worry, you don't have to wait too much longer to get these fun new products.  Need a catalog?  Click HERE for all of the details on how to get one!

Until next time, happy crafting!

Sweet Birthday for CCC08

Happy Monday, Crafty Friends!  I hope that you had a nice weekend!  Can you believe it?  It's that time again…time for another fun challenge from Creative Challenge Club!  It's a sketch this time.

Here's CCC08.

When I saw this sketch, my mind's eye clearly saw my card below.

Here's my card.

For this Sweet Birthday Card, I went right to the Bravo Stamp Set and Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper.

I added some sweet punch art by using the Petite Pennants Builder and Cupcake Builder punches.  The three scoops and the cone are all punched from Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper.

Don't you want some ice cream or fro yo now?  I sure do!

I am delighted with how this card turned out!  It was so fun to play with both old and new products for this challenge.

Be sure to play along with us over at Creative Challenge Club.  We love seeing your creations!

Birthday Balloons for Creative Challenge Club (CCC05)

Hi Crafty Friends!  Yes, it's Monday again, and it's time for another fun Creative Challenge Club sketch!  My card is an uber fun birthday card that includes some quick and easy punch art.  Do you love punch art?  I sure do!

Here's CCC05.

And here's my card!

When I sat down to create it, I knew I was going to use two things:

1.   The Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper.

2.  The Life's Adventure Stamp Set (it's a hostess-exclusive set and can be yours too!  Just ask me how.).

Both had just arrived, so I was dying to play with them.  Well, let's just say that I couldn't get my Blendabilities to color that adorable bike in the stamp set the way I wanted, so I gave up after three tries.  Oh well.  But it's not the Blendies' fault…it's mine.  I just need a bigger image to color.

Then it hit me…a birthday card!  And instantly I knew what to create.  I grabbed the Big News Stamp Set and Endless Birthday Wishes Photopolymer Stamp Set, and the rest is pretty much crafting history!

The most fun about this card is the adorable punch art balloons.  The balloons were inspired by two amazing crafters and fellow Design Team Members--Jason Loucks and Nicole Tugrul--from previous challenges.  And they're easy to make!

All you need are the circle punch of your choice (I used the 1-1/4" Circle Punch) and the Owl Builder Punch, some twine, wet glue and some Stampin' Dimensionals.

The Steps ::

1.  Using the 1-1/4" Circle Punch, punch as many circles as you want balloons.

2.  Using the Owl Builder Punch, punch a portion of the scrap to include the owl's foot as the base of your balloon (shown below).

3.  You may have to cut a little off the top of the part that was punched, then secure it to the back of your circle with some SNAIL.

4.  Secure the twine to the back of the balloon with two dots (literally!) of Tombow Mono Liquid Glue (where the arrows are pointing in the picture below).

5.  Adhere the balloons and the sentiment to the card with Stampin' Dimensionals.

I have a funny story for you about this card.  When I finished it the other night, I went to show it to my fiancé, Howard, like I typically do to see what he thought of it.  And he actually thought it was for him because he said "thank you" when I handed it to him.  LOL!  I had to explain to him that I had a card for him, but this one wasn't it.  So funny!
