Happily Ever After

Hi Crafty Friends!  I can't believe it, but someone in my family is getting married!  My little cousin!  She's not exactly little anymore, but she'll always be my "little cousin" since she is younger than me.

The last time we went to a wedding was in 2013.  The card I made for my friend and her groom, the Happy I Do Day Card, is still a favorite of mine, and it's still being pinned to this day.

Well, with the good news, I couldn't wait to craft a beautiful card to let my cousin know how happy I am for her and the groom-to-be!  I wanted lots of color, so I whipped out the Big News Stamp Set...it's come in quite handy here lately...and the Petite Petals Stamp Set and coordinating punch, and went to work.

I consulted with my Color Coach because I sometimes struggle with which colors to use and decided to go "big."  I chose Strawberry Slush, Rich Razzleberry, Coastal Cabana, Crisp Cantaloupe, and Sahara Sand.  If you don't have our Color Coach, I highly recommend getting one.  It's one of the best investments you'll ever make.

It took me a few passes before I fell in love with this card.  No kidding...I wasn't crazy about this card at first, but now I LOVE it!  And I hope that you like it too.

Well, that's all for today, folks.  You will find all of the products I used to create this card below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store, or click any of the links below to go right to that item.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Until next time, happy crafting!

P.S.  If you like this post, please share it with your peeps.

Flashback Friday: Happy I Do Day

Happy Friday, Everyone!  I'm so glad the weekend is here!  There's lots of fun stuff planned like crafting with some friends on Saturday and antiquing on Sunday...that is if I have any energy left after Saturday.  We'll see!

For today's Flashback Friday share, I made a wedding card for my friend using two retired stamp sets that I still love to play with--Perfectly Preserved and Word Play.  Perfectly Preserved was last seen in the 2012 Holiday Catalog, and Word Play was last spotted in the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog.

I got my inspiration from a few cards I saw on Pinterest and mulled over which products I would use to execute my design.  I first sketched my design and then went to work.  Terrified to make a mistake, I first made a sample using Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Pumpkin Pie as my color scheme.

The "Test Run"

For the final version of this card, I used my friend's actual wedding colors--Orange (Tangerine Tangoand Black (Basic Black).

The "Real Deal"

The Steps for the Flower Bunch:

  1. Using the flower bunch stamp from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set, stamp about 18-20 flowers in matching ink and cardstock.
  2. Punch out the flowers using the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch.
  3. Adhere the flowers with Mini Glue Dots to a scrap piece of cardstock cut from the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.
  4. Cut stems from a 2-1/2" x 4" piece of Gumball Green Cardstock leaving 1/2" uncut from the top.
  5. Fold the Gumball Green Cardstock onto itself making it approximately 1/2" wide.
  6. Trim the ends of the stems individually at an angle with Paper Snips.
  7. Wrap Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon around the stems and adhere with a Mini Glue Dot.
  8. Add stems to back of circle with flower bunch with a Mini Glue Dot.
  9. Finish off with a bow made from Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon and adhere with a Mini Glue Dot.
  10. Adhere the completed flower bunch to your card base with Stampin' Dimensionals behind the circle and Multipurpose Liquid Glue behind the ribbon-wrapped stems.

I LOVE both of these cards and hope that you like them too!  If you do, please leave me a comment below and/or pin either one to your crafty or wedding Pinterest board(s).  Although wedding season is over, maybe the next time there is a wedding, hopefully I've inspired you to make a handmade card.

Have a great weekend, and, until next time, happy crafting!
