Hooray Hoorah for Creative Challenge Club (CCC02)

Hi Crafty Friends!  It's Monday, and I'm here today to share another fabulous creation using Creative Challenge Club's CCC02.  What a FUN sketch!  Don't you agree?!

I tried my best to step out of the box a little bit with this design, but I didn't have great success.  Instead of stars, I was going to use flowers because I had a vision of a floral card when I first saw this sketch, but it just wasn't working.

After a bit of soul searching, I found myself grabbing for the Sweet Taffy Designer Series Paper.  If you haven't seen or thought about adding it to your collection, I hope this card changes your mind.  This card features both the A- and B-sides of one of the papers in the bunch, and I LOVE both!  Stripes and polka dots are always good with me.

Did you happen to notice that I stamped my sentiment "Hooray!  Hoorah!" a few times?  For that, I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig.  It's quite possibly the greatest invention ever for people like me, and maybe you too, who want things perfectly aligned occasionally.  Although I'm a recovering perfectionist, sometimes perfectly aligned stamping is necessary, right?

I tried to stamp the sentiment using a steady hand several times, but it just wasn't lining up, so I figured I'd give the Stamp-a-ma-jig a try.  To my surprise, it works with BOTH wood and clear mount stamps because my Sumthin' Sumthin' Stamp Set is a clear set, and it worked beautifully.

My June TOP 5 Most Pinned Projects

Hi Crafty Friends!  With the roll out of the NEW! Stampin' Up! Annual Catalog on June 2nd, I couldn't wait to get my hands on some new favorites Since I've received my first order, I've tried my best to put as many new products to work as possible, and I've been having a ball!

A few of those projects have been HOT, HOT, HOT on Pinterest, so I thought I'd give you all a recap of the Top 5 most pinned projects this month.

Like they do on the Late Show with David Letterman for Top 10 Lists, we're going to start from the bottom.  But in this case, we have five.  Click on the name above each picture if you'd like more pictures, details, and/or product lists.  Here they are:

#5)  It's Your Birthday!

#4)  Ombre Work of Art

#3)  Hello My Friend

#2)  A Little Kindness

...and #1)  Hip Hip Hooray

The reason why this card is #1 is because it was added to Stampin' Up!'s "Cards" Pinterest Board earlier this month.  It is a HUGE honor for my work to be featured there!  Just scroll down...you'll see it there.

I hope you have enjoyed our countdown!  Pin the ones you like too.  Have a wonderful weekend, and I'll see you back here on Monday with a new project for the Creative Challenge Club.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Until next time, happy crafting!

Make a Wish Upon a Star

Hi Crafty Friends!  How about a fun birthday card to make someone's big day a bit brighter?

For today's share, inspiration for this birthday card came from this adorable Crushed Curry polka dot paper that I found in the Flowerpot Designer Series Paper.  I'm a sucker for anything polka dot!

I love the clothespin holding the sentiment onto the ribbon.  At the bottom of the banner, I secured it to the card with one Stampin' Dimensional.  It's not going anywhere!

I hope that you like this card and have some inspiration for a future card or two.

Well, that's all for today!  You will find all of the products I used to create this card below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store, or click any of the links below to go right to that item.

Hello Darling for Creative Challenge Club (CCC01)

Hi Crafty Friends!  Today is a very special day!  Why, you ask?  Because it's opening day of sketch challenges for the Creative Challenge Club, and I am one of the Design Team Members!  I was honored to be invited to join such a creative group.

http://creativechallengeclubs.blogspot.com

Myself and six of my fellow Stampin' Up! demonstrators (who are all AMAZING paper crafters!) will be bringing you beautiful handcrafted cards that we'll make with our featured sketch every Monday!  And you can play along by creating a card of your own and linking it to the site.  Just head over to Creative Challenge Club for all of the details!

Here's the first sketch CCC01.

http://creativechallengeclubs.blogspot.com/2014/06/ccc01-sketch.html

And, here's my first Creative Challenge Club creation!

I saw this card so differently before I started to craft--a mixture of patterned papers and lots of stamping--but my first two attempts were just not working, so they went into the circular file.  It was only after I went to my go-to colors--Hello Honey, Blackberry Bliss and Gold--that my hopes and dreams for this card started to come true.

For this Hello Darling Card, I embossed my sentiment using Gold Stampin' Emboss Powder.  Heat embossing is the answer for stamping images and sentiments onto dark cardstock.

For my flowers, I used the Flower Flair Framelits Dies only, not the coordinating stamps.  I really liked the look without the stamped image, so I left them like that and simply curled the ends with my Bone Folder.  To me, it makes them stand out more.

Well, that's all for today, folks!  I hope that you like this card and will join me and my crafty friends over at Creative Challenge Club by sharing your creation there.

You will find all of the products I used to create this card below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store, or click any of the links below to go right to that item.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Until next time, happy crafting!
