Happy Birthday Shaker Card...Let's shake it up!!!

Did you hear that BIG squeal I let out?!  That was me!  I could not wait to share this Happy Birthday Shaker Card with you!  I don't know what it is about shaker cards, but they make me happy.  It's probably because they remind me of snow globes, and I LOVE snow globes!

The inspiration for this card came from a card I saw on Pinterest.  But what fueled my desire to make a shaker card was my crafty friend Nicole Tugrul of Be Creative with Nicole.

A couple of weeks ago, Nicole made one cute shaker card after another, and I wanted a piece of the action.  So I grabbed some of my go-to colors--Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush--some designer series paper, stamps, dies and a punch, and went to work.

The focal point of this card is that adorable banner shaker.  First, I double die cut the top banner piece from a black and white striped piece of Stacked with Love Designer Series Paper Stack.

Second, I used some contraband, I mean some non-Stampin' Up! clear foam adhesive to make my shaker.  LOL!  I used KOOL TAK Clear Foam Roll Tape.  It's like working with a sticky gummy worm, but it's just what the doctor ordered.

Inside my shaker, I filled it to the brim with some hearts punched from Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush cardstock using the Hearts Border Punch and also added some 2013-2015 In Color Sequin.  Because the sequins and punched shapes stick to the sides of the foam adhesive, you have to really fill it.

I added my sentiment by using a die cut "happy" from the Hello You Thinlits Dies and stamped "birthday" from the Crazy About You Stamp Set.  The die cut sentiment was adhered with just a few dots of true clear wet glue (more contraband)...Tombow Mono Aqua Liquid Glue.

I finished my card off with an adorable bow using the Bow Builder Punch.  Love that punch!

This was such a fun card to make!  I hope that I have encouraged you to give shaker cards a try.  You will find all of the Stampin' Up! products I used to create this card below.  My Online Store is open 24/7!  Click any of the links below to go right to that item.

So Very Kind of You & A TUTORIAL

Just when you thought I had forgotten all about the Occasions Catalog products, I'm back today with a card packed with some of my favorite Occasions Catalog goodies!

To be quite honest, I didn't even know if I liked this card when I finished it a couple of weeks ago.  So it sat and sat on my display table until one day last week, I looked at and it hit me that I really liked it.  I know it might sound crazy, but it's true.  LOL!

For this So Very Kind of You Card, I whipped out my Big on You and Petal Potpourri stamp sets and the Flower Medallion Punch and started crafting.  I also grabbed some of my color faves--Coastal Cabana (so going to miss this retiring color!), Melon Mambo, and Basic Black.  I just love these BIG sentiments.

I used two of the Petal Potpourri stamps to achieve the flower look.  Who knew that one of the four flowers is perfect for filling in another one with color?  I've seen it done a couple of times and it finally clicked that people were double stamping those two flower stamps.

I stamped my flower in Melon Mambo a bit off center because I love that unpolished look about the two flowers together.  And for my petals, I punched them using the same Flower Medallion Punch, but I cut off two of the leaves, scored them, and...wallah!...adhered them to the back of my flower.

Want to get this 2-step stamped look?

I really like this card.  It's simple, a little messy and packed with color!  I hope you like it too and make one of your own to say thank you to someone who's done something special for you.

You will find all of the products I used to create this card below.  My Online Store is open 24/7!  Click any of the links below to go right to that item.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Tap Tap Tap Hello My Friend

TGIF!  I'm excited for the weekend because some friends and I have a fun time planned on Saturday.  First, we're going to have lunch, then we're going to have a "shoebox swap!"

In case you don't know what a shoe box swap is, it's where everyone designs a card and brings all of the supplies for each person to make that same exact card in a shoebox (not literally...I use Container Store Shoe Boxes).  The "takeaway" is that everyone learns exactly how each card is made.  It's a great way to try something different.

For my swap, I made this fun Tap Tap Tap Hello My Friend Card, featuring none other than the Tap Tap Tap Stamp Set and some of my favorite Designer Series Paper--Confetti Celebration.

I borrowed my design from Jan Tink of Stamps, Paper, Scissors.  I needed something snazzy for my friends to make, and I have long-admired Jan's card.

I chose the Confetti Celebration Designer Series Paper because it's fun and eye-catching.  Besides, I've been hoarding that one piece of multicolored triangles since last summer, and it was high time that I cut it up and put it to work.

This was such a fun card to make!  I am quite pleased with the results and can't wait to send it to a friend.  Do you have a friend who could use a cheery "hello friend" card from you too?  If so, hopefully I have inspired you to give one of my Tap Tap Tap card designs a try.  In case you missed the other two, here's Tap Tap Tap Thinking of You and Tap Tap Tap Hello You.

You will find all of the products I used to create this card below.  Many of the products I used are on the Retiring List, so order them sooner than later before they sell out.  My Online Store is open 24/7!  Click any of the links below to go right to that item.

Have a great weekend!  Until next time, happy crafting!

Tap Tap Tap Hello You

Oooooh...do I have another one for you that I hope you like as much as you did the Tap Tap Tap Thinking of You Card that I shared yesterday.  Needless to say, my love affair with the Tap Tap Tap Stamp Set continues.

This Tap Tap Tap Hello You Card is truly one of my favorites!  It's got a lot going on, even though it has a pretty simple, straightforward design.

The black and white (actually Very Vanilla) topped off with some Bermuda Bay, Mambo Melon, and Crushed Curry are what make it "pop."  I simply adore bright colors and nothing about that will likely ever change.

For this card, I whipped out that lovely Typeset Designer Series Specialty Paper (because all of our designer series paper retires each year) and used some that looked like a ledger as well as some stripes (LOVE stripes!).

The sentiment is from Regarding Dahlias, which I am so bummed is retiring.  Oh well, that just means more fabulous, amazing stuff is coming, right?

I hope you like this card and want to make one of your own.  Some of the items I used to make this card are retiring, so be sure to RUN not walk to my Online Store to get the ones you want before they are gone forever.

I also hope you have had the opportunity to get the things you want from the Retiring List (click the links to find the retiring stamps and retiring accessories).  Some items, especially retiring In Color 2013-2015 items, have sold out, but there's still plenty of other great things to choose from.

You will find all of the products I used to create this card below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store or click any of the links to go right to that item.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Tap Tap Tap Thinking of You & Paper Pumpkin April 2015

Oh, boy!  Have I been having some crafting fun lately!  With Sale-a-Bration over, it was high time for me to mix things up a bit and pull out some "old" but still current favorites from the Annual Catalog, and put them to work with my new Occasions Catalog faves.

When I went to grab for "old" stamp sets, the first one I wanted to play with was Tap Tap Tap.  I distinctly remember this being at the top of my Wish List when the Annual Catalog was released last summer, and I really only made one card with it--this fun Hello My Friend Card.  What a shame!

For this card, I turned to Pinterest for my design inspiration.  It's messy but majorly cute!

I used the Tap Tap Tap, Perpetual Birthday Calendar and Work of Art stamp sets, and the colors are Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry and Mambo Melon.

I just love the bright colors and how overlapping the colors created oranges and greens that were not in the original color scheme.

That added bit of washi tape in the upper left corner and the staple in the lower right corner are the perfect finishing touches.  Love that!

But what I think I love the most is that this card can easily be transformed into a masculine card with a few color changes.  Do you agree?

If you decide to CASE this card, be sure to stamp off before stamping the watercolor swooshes.  Otherwise, the color may be too deep, making the typewriter hard to see.

You will find all of the products I used to create this card below.  And thankfully, Tap Tap Tap and Work of Art are NOT on the Retiring List.  So glad about that!  Order what you need by going to my Online Store or click any of the links to go right to that item.

Don't sleep on this Perpetual Birthday Calendar Stamp Set...it's not only intended to be used with the Perpetual Birthday Calendar Project Kit (page 17 in the Occasions Catalog).  It's got a myriad of uses, and I'm so happy that I bought it because I can't get enough of it!

Paper Pumpkin Kit April 2015

Did you get yours yet?  Mine arrived yesterday!  All I have to say is...major cuteness going on in that red box!

SPOILER ALERT!!!
Below is Stampin' Up!'s video of what's in the box.

Don't fret if you are not already a subscriber...you can become one TODAY!  Just click HERE to become a subscriber.  Easy, breezy, beautiful!  Or, you could try Paper Pumpkin with a pre-paid subscription for 1, 3, 6 or 12 months!

Like I've said before, I could not be happier with my Paper Pumpkin subscription.  It truly brings me joy each month, and my customers tell me all the time how much they are loving their subscriptions too.  And if you don't love it, you can always cancel it or put it on hold.  Really!

Here's what one of my customers had to say about her Paper Pumpkin subscription:

"I'm finding that I look forward to the deliveries so much, I haven't had the time or inspiration that I use[d] to have for stamping (lots to do with losing my Mom who started me in stamping) but since I've started receiving the deliveries I've "found" time and some of my "spark" back - so thank you for introducing this option for me.  I have tried other "kit of the month" clubs but this one is definitely the best!"  ~ Cheryl F.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Little Baby = Big News!

OMG!  Do I love little babies!  I'm not having anymore (one and done!), but Julian's teacher is, and we're so excited for her!  She's a newlywed and this is her and her husband's first child, so this little baby is a BIG deal!

What is even more of a big deal is that the teachers threw her a surprise baby shower during school in her classroom, and NOT ONE of the kids spilled the beans and spoiled the surprise!  We're talking 1st and 2nd graders, and they all kept it to themselves for weeks.  That's amazing, right?!

Since I rarely shop for gifts, we sent along this beautiful card and a gift card.

I CASE'd my design from ME!  I made my Welcome Baby Card way back in September 2013, but I've been dying to make more.  This time, I was FINALLY able to use my Zoo Babies and Big News stamp sets.

I decided on Crushed Curry, So Saffron and Basic Gray for my color scheme since I was going to be heat embossing.  I wanted to make sure that my giraffe showed through the vellum, so I heat embossed it using Crushed Curry embossing powder.

{The patterned paper that the giraffe is on is retired, but it was so perfect, I had to use it.  It's from the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper that we all could not get enough of during its heyday.}

And because my black ink kept smearing on the vellum (twice, mind you), I finally decided to heat emboss my sentiment too.

This card is so much fun, and I think this is my go-to design for baby cards until another little one comes along.  The embossing folder, the zoo baby animals and sentiment are so perfect together.  I hope you think so too.

You will find all of the current products I used to create this card below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store or click any of the links to go right to that item.

Be sure to stop by FIRST THING tomorrow when the Retiring Stamps and Accessories Lists will be revealed!  You won't want to miss it...get your wish list ready!

Until next time, happy crafting!
