Don't you love it when you set out to create something with lots of layers and texture, but what you discover is that less really is more? Well, that's what happened with this card. I was using a sketch that I knew would create the most awesome card I had ever created to date (well, one of the greats), but what I came up with was a big miss. With some remnants laying on top of each other after that first creation, the card below is what shined through. Get it...sun...shined through? You got it. Using some Daffodil Delight and Tempting Turquoise from my Brights DSP Stack (for the center of the sun and the piece that the sentiment is stamped on), and a few punched pennants from Daffodil Delight, this card was born. I was like, "How simple yet cute is that?!" The hardest and most time consuming part of this card was putting the sun together.
It was easy in retrospect, but it's a little hard at first to judge if the rays are going the way you want them. Once you've got that puzzle put together, then it takes another two seconds (well, a little bit longer than that) to ink and stamp the sentiment and adhere everything to the card base.
I hope that you like this card and will get crafty with me by giving it a try. It's a great, quick card for summer! Let me know what you think by leaving me a comment below.
Until next time, happy crafting!
