In the Woods Gift Tags

This past June, I started my first ever Let's Get Crafty Stamp Club, and I was lucky enough to have four of my crafty friends become Stamp Club members!

For four months--June, July, September, and October--we got together and made projects featuring products from the 2018-2019 Annual Catalog and the 2018 Holiday Catalog.  Boy, did we have fun!

To show my appreciation at the end of our time together, I gave them each a thank you gift of some delicious hot chocolate from sillycow Farms.

I packaged them in our 6" x 17" Gusseted Cellophane Bags (they were available on the Clearance Rack in September, but are now sold out) and made beautiful gift tags featuring three of my favorite Bundles:

Dashing Deer
Festive Farmhouse
Winter Woods

I made these tags pretty simply.

THE STEPS ::
  1. Stamp a piece of 3" x 4" Whisper White cardstock with the five trees stamp in the Winter Woods stamp set using Shaded Spruce ink.
  2. Emboss a piece of 3" x 4" vellum using the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
  3. Die cut the outline of the tree and the tree with boughs from Shaded Spruce cardstock.  Using your Bone Folder, gently lift the boughs from the die cut.
  4. Stamp the sentiment from the Winter Woods stamp set in Cherry Cobbler ink and die cut using the stitched banner die in the Farmhouse Framelits Dies.
  5. Stamp a small deer using the Dashing Deer stamp set in Soft Suede ink onto Soft Suede cardstock.  Die cut using the Detailed Deer Thinlits Dies.
  6. Layer the embossed tag over the stamped tag, and punch a hole top center.  Thread through a 3-1/2" piece Festive Farmhouse Cotton Twine in Cherry Cobbler and knot at the top.
  7. Layer on tree, sentiment, and deer using both Tombow Multipurpose Glue and Stampin' Dimensionals.
  8. Put bottle of hot chocolate into a 6" x 17" Gusseted Cellophane Bag and tie on 5/8" Striped Burlap Trim.  Slip on tag and tie into a bow.  It's ready to give!

They loved the gifts!

Nifty Gift Giving: You're A Gem Curvy Keepsake Box & A TUTORIAL

Hi Crafty Friends!  I'm back to share another fun gift giving idea!  For my second "Nifty Gifty" project, it was made using the Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies.

These dies were introduced in the 2014 Holiday Catalog, and everyone has fallen head over heals in love with all of its possibilities!  Me included!

For this adorable little box, I used some of my favorite 2013-2015 In Colors--Coastal Cabana, Pistachio Pudding and Crisp Cantaloupe.  I'm going to be so sad to see all five colors go!

If you haven't stocked up already on your favorite 2013-2015 In Color everything (ink pads, ink refills, cardstock, Stampin' Write Markers, sequins, etc.), then now is the time to do so because they will be retiring in May, and most will sell out before that time even gets here.  You've been warned!

Anyway, I borrowed my tag design from the 2015 Occasions Catalog (page 29).  That's what it's for...it's not just a catalog, it's an idea book too.

It's a little hard to see in the picture, but I added a strip of white with gold hearts washi tape from the Stacked with Love Designer Washi Tape.  Instead of making stripes on my tag, I simply colored in the gem with a Crisp Cantaloupe Stampin' Write Marker.  Because the tag is heat embossed, coloring it was very easy.

THE STEPS (to punch both ends of your tag with the Note Tag Punch) ::
  1. Grab a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and punch it once.
  2. Then grab a small Post-it Note and stick to the end you already punched.
  3. Holding the punch upside down AND facing you, slip the tag into the decorative end and punch again.  Wallah!

I really like how this little box turned out, and I hope that you do too.  These little boxes are great for putting a few treats in and sharing all year round for nearly every holiday, wedding favors, baby showers, and many other events that come up throughout the year.

Here's a video from Stampin' Up! showing you how to create with your Curvy Keepsake Box Thinlits Dies.

2015 Occasions Catalog

There's been a little confusion as to what the 2015 Occasions Catalog is, so I'd like to clarify.  When Stampin' Up! designed the Occasions Catalog, they added a Sale-a-Bration "cover wrap" over the front cover.  (I believe that's what it's called according to Google.)  So, what you might think is the Sale-a-Bration brochure, is actually the 2015 Occasions Catalog!

To avoid any further confusion, just flip that Sale-a-Bration cover wrap to the back, and you will find the lovely handmade Build a Bouquet Kit on the front cover.

We still have 2 more months with the 2015 Occasions Catalog and the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog, so let's keep on crafting!

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Until next time, happy crafting!

Nifty Gift Giving: Happy Birthday Gift Card Envelope & A TUTORIAL

Hi Crafty Friends!  I'm so excited to share the first of four fun nifty gift giving projects with you!  I hosted my 1st Stampin' Up! class this past Saturday called "Nifty Gifties," and everyone who attended had a blast!  It was all about nifty gift giving ideas, and we created a variety of Stampin' Up! projects using the Big Shot.

For our first project, we made this adorable Happy Birthday Gift Card Envelope using the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Dies (page 49 of the Occasions Catalog in the "Returning Favorites" section).

This die was first introduced in our 2014 Holiday Catalog, and thankfully Stampin' Up! carried it over into the 2015 Occasions Catalog!

I don't know about you, but whenever I have to buy a gift, 99.9% of the time I buy a gift card.  It's hard enough for me to shop for my son and fiancé, let alone try to figure out what someone else might like for a gift.  So I like to give gift cards to my friends and family, so they can get what they want.

As you may have noticed, I borrowed my design from the Occasions Catalog on page 45.  I couldn't top that design, so I borrowed certain elements and changed a few.

Although the Big Day Stamp Set is no longer available (it was a Sale-a-Bration free product), you could easily use one of our many other "Happy Birthday" stamps for your sentiment.  Just top it off with a swoosh from the Work of Art Stamp Set like they did in the Catalog.

THE STEPS ::
  1. Die cut the Gift Card Envelope Thinlits Die from Crumb Cake Cardstock using the Big Shot.  Score and fold, but no adhesive is required.
  2. Cut a 1-1/4" x 6-1/2" strip of Whisper White Cardstock and emboss it with the Lucky Stars Textured Embossing Folder using the Texture Boutique Machine.
  3. Cut a 3/4" x 6-1/2" strip of Birthday Bash Specialty Designer Series Paper and adhere it onto the Whisper White embossed strip.  Use a strong adhesive such as Fast Fuse.
  4. Wrap the layered strip (the two pieces you adhered together in steps 2 & 3) around the gift card envelope and adhere onto itself, not the envelope.  Allow the strip to be snug but also slide on and off the envelope.
  5. Die cut a tag from the Chalk Talk Framelits Dies punching a hole at the end using the 1/8" Circle Handheld Punch.  Thread some Bermuda Bay Baker's Twine through and tie into a bow.
  6. Using a Mini Glue Dot, adhere the tag onto the belly band.  Punch some stars from Crushed Curry Cardstock using the Itty Bitty Accent star punch and adhere them with Mini Glue Dots as well.  You're done!

The belly band you see around the envelope slides off easily, so you can insert the gift card of your choosing once you are ready to give this little diddy to the lucky birthday girl or boy.  It's also perfect for graduations, Bar and Bat Mitzvahs, Sweet 16's, Quinceaneras, weddings...and the list goes on!  It is so easy to make and will make a great gift in addition to the gift card inside!

Here's a video from Stampin' Up! showing you how to use your Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Dies.
