Stampin' Up!'s Catalog Premiere!

Hi Crafty Friends!  I am so delighted to share with you the latest goings-on at Stampin' Up!  On Monday, April 28th, me and about 7,600 of my fellow demonstrators got to experience Stampin' Up!'s {first ever} Catalog Premiere!

Stampin' Up! did a very smart thing…they hosted the event from Long Beach, CA, and broadcast it live to 39 movie theaters all over the country.  We signed up for the event in March, and waiting for the day to get here was nearly agonizing.  It's all we could talk about for weeks!

And when the day finally arrived, it flew by!  It all started with a trip to Sacramento with three of my favorite crafters--Patty, Joy and Lorena.

When we checked in at the theater with the Stampin' Up! crew, they let us select from a colorful bunch of wrist bands.  You could pick any one you wanted.  So I selected the one with blue polka dots.  The dots were a turquoise color, so that's why I picked them.  Then, we waited in line for the theater to open--theater #12 to be exact.

Once inside, the seats quickly filled, and we waited for the fun to start.  Wouldn't you know it, the first Prize Patrol was for those of us wearing the wristband with blue polka dots.  I jumped out of my seat so fast!  I couldn't believe it!  I had won one of the new stamp sets called "What's Your Type?"  I can't wait to start using it and sharing all of its possibilities with you.

It seemed like forever before they pulled back the curtain and started the show, but once they did, we were mesmerized by all of the new stuff--stamp sets (available in wood, clear, and photopolymer!), In Colors, more Project Life, Framelits and dies, ribbon and paper!  On the big screen, the Stampin' Up! staff shared lots of great projects they had made and many exciting techniques as well.

Once it was over, we were each given a copy of the new Catalog and a new stamp set.  Wahoo!  We quickly visited with friends and then headed to dinner across the parking lot to On the Border.  While we waited for our dinner to be served, we combed over our new Catalogs and discussed what we liked, didn't like so much, and how certain products could be used.  Before we knew it, dinner was being served, and it was time to return home.

What a day!  I am still giddy with excitement from all of the fun we had and all of the NEW! products that are coming our way!  I have never truly been this excited about the Annual Catalog...EVER!  It is chock-o-block with so many new things, and I can't wait to share them with you and see which ones you like!  My Wish List is long, and I haven't even physically started writing it yet!  Haha!

Well, that's all for now, folks!  Thank you for stopping by today and happy crafting!

April's Paper Pumpkin & A VIDEO!

Hi Friends!  I went to the mailbox last week and opened it to find a very pleasant surprise…My Paper Pumpkin subscription for April had arrived!  I just love how it feels a little like Christmas every time it arrives because you never know what's in the box until you open it.

And just like the box says, "You're moments away from your escape…," I couldn't wait to sit down and create this adorable Framed Love kit.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE what Stampin' Up! came up with this month!  Last month's was fab too!

This Framed Love only took minutes to create, but what joy it brought me to see it all come together.  I made it exactly the way Stampin' Up! did, and I could not be happier with the outcome!  Hey, I'm easy…sometimes :)

Even though the project only used one of the stamps that came in the set, I am delighted that I have two others to use that will be a great addition to my current stamp collection.  The interesting part is that I've been waiting for Stampin' Up! to make a "Happy Mother's Day" stamp for quite some time, and this one is PERFECT!  The "For You" is fun too and will come in handy…especially for tags.

Check out this video Stampin' Up! created to show you how to use all of the pieces in this month's kit.

So, do you like surprises?  Do you need a little creative escape every month that doesn't require any planning or a great deal of time?  If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, then I highly recommend giving My Paper Pumpkin a try.  Check out my website and sign up if you like.  No commitment required and skip a month if you need to.  Easy, right?

Please let me know if you have any questions about My Paper Pumpkin or anything else we offer at Stampin' Up!

Thank you for stopping by today and happy crafting!

Hello Watercolor

Hi Crafty Friends!  I'm here with another card that features a soon-to-be-missed retiring productthe Typeset Alphabet Bigz Diesfrom the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.

I made this fun Hello Watercolor Card featuring our Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper and our soon-to-be-retiring Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies.

I just got these dies from Santa this past Christmas, but I've barely used them.  Now they are going away.  Boo hoo!

These Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies are a classic font that can jazz up cards, scrapbook pages and Project Life Journaling Cards too.  So I'm going to continue to use them well into retirement.  Can you blame me?!

Even though they are an investment, they are well worth the cost and can be used for years to come!

Stampin' Up!'s Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies

This card is for my aunt who recently retired and moved to sunny (hot!) Arizona.  I want her to know that we miss her.  I hope she likes it!

You will find all of the products I used to make this card listed below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store, or click any of the links to go right to that item.  Get FREE SHIPPING on everything through April 25th!

Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting!

Hello Friend Soho Subway & A Retiring Product Blog Hop Too!

Hi Crafty Friends!  I'm here along with several members of the Luv 2 Stamp Group, and we're excited to share projects we've made using retiring products from the 2013-2014 Annual Catalog.  In case you haven't heard, Stampin' Up! is making room for new products in the 2014-2015 Annual Catalog.  Yippee!

I'm so excited to share this Hello Friend Soho Subway Card with you, but I'm also a little sad.  Why?  Because nearly every product featured on this card will be retiring.

The retiring products are:
  • Secret Garden Stamp Set (#131940 wood, #129144 clear)
  • Secret Garden Framelits Dies (#129372)
  • Soho Subway Designer Series Paper (#130140)
  • Itty Bitty Punch Pack (#118309)
How could this be?!  The Secret Garden Stamp Set and Framelits Dies are some of my all time favorite products to play with!  However, Stampin' Up! never disappoints, so I'm sure it has more flower stamps and Framelits Dies in the works for the new Annual Catalog to replace this awesome ensemble.

For this card, my goal was to use as much Soho Subway Designer Series Paper as possible in the design because the patterns and colors work so well together.  You should get your hands on some of this paper, if you don't have some already.

This card is a little "dark," but I just LOVE it!  It's simple yet complicated, and it has lots of layers!  What do you think?  I'd love to hear from you, so please leave me a comment below.

You will find all of the products I used to make this card listed below.  Order what you need, retiring or otherwise, in my Online Store and get FREE SHIPPING on everything through April 25th!

NOTE:  Because the Retiring Stamp and Retiring Accessories lists went live at 12 am Monday morning, several items have already sold out because all retiring products are available while supplies last.  Some of the products we have featured on our Retiring Product Blog Hop may already be sold out, and we apologize for any inconvenience.  We hope you enjoy the ideas shared and are able to order the retiring products on YOUR Wish List!
