Fun with Flowers Week: Enjoy the Little Things Card

I love these new Botanical Builder Framelits Dies so much, so I've been challenging myself to come up with different ways to show off the dies.  And it's really been a blast!

Like I did for the other two cards I shared with you earlier this week--Hello My Friend Floral Card and Happiest of Birthdays to You Card--I used the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and Botanical Builders Framelits Dies as my foundation but changed the stamp set for the sentiment.

For this card, I used the Enjoy the Little Things Stamp Set for my sentiment.  This set has some great sentiments.  Don't sleep on it, my friends.

This card came together very quickly after I die cut my sentiment and its base, and then the flowers and leaves.  Then, instead of just adding the patterned paper onto my card base, I also added a  4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Whisper White Cardstock under it to add a bit contrast.  I really made the card base "pop."

I really hope you like this card and want to make one of your own.  Either way, I hope that my projects this week have made you want some Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and Botanical Builders Framelits Dies of your own, if you don't already have them.  They're simply a must-have if you like making beautiful cards with fabulous flowers!

You will find all of the Stampin' Up! products used to create this card below.  Order what you need by placing your order in my Online Store anytime, or click any of the photos below to go right to that item.

P.S.  If you'd like to know where I got my fancy-pants measuring skills above, I got them from my Victor Easy Read Ruler.  Can't craft without it!

Fun with Flowers Week: Happiest of Birthdays to You & TUTORIAL!

In case you don't already know this about me, I LOVE flower dies!  This must be true for a lot of stampers and crafters because Stampin' Up! comes up with a new set of floral dies every year that I, my fellow demonstrators and my customers just adore.  And this is exactly the case for the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies.  I.LOVE.THEM!

Here's a little crafting math for you:
What do you get when you combine the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and the Botanical Builder Framelits Dies?  One GREAT card!  (At least I think so!)

I just LOVE the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper!  It screams "Let's have some fun with flowers!"

Does this design look familiar?  If you've been following me here for a while, it should.  I CASE'd it (Copy And Share Everything) from one of my previous designs, the Happy Blooming Birthday Card (July 2014) and You Make Me Happy Card (January 2014).

The color combinations in this paper are bright and bold but also soft and pretty.  I just love how this card turned out!

Want to make one of your own?  Then here's what you'll need to do below.

THE STEPS ::
  1. Cut a floral 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" card front from a piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper.  Cut a striped 3" x 4" piece of paper from a piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper.  Cut a 1" x 5" strip of Mossy Meadow Cardstock and a polka dot 1" x 4-3/4" strip from a piece of Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper.
  2. Stamp sentiment "Happiest of Birthdays to You" on a piece of Whisper White Cardstock and die cut using the Lots of Labels Framelits Dies.  Die cut a piece of cardstock one size larger than sentiment piece from Blushing Bride Cardstock.
  3. Die cut two flowers and a flower center from Watermelon Wonder, Blushing Bride, Hello Honey and Mossy Meadow cardstock.
  4. On a 4-1/4" x 11" Watermelon Wonder Cardstock card base, adhere floral card front.  Adhere Mossy Meadow strip, then striped piece, then polka dot piece.
  5. Adhere sentiment piece on top of Blushing Bride die cut piece.  Then adhere to card front with Stampin' Dimensionals.
  6. Layer flowers with adhesive of your choice and adhere near top left of sentiment piece with one Stampin' Dimensional.
  7. Finish off card with three (3) Gold Sequin Trim.

Fun with Flowers Week: Hello My Friend

Boy, does time fly!  It's already February, and I still have yet to play with a good chunk of my Occasions Catalog and Sale-A-Bration goodies.
So, before we say goodbye to the Hello Stamp Set in the Sale-A-Bration brochure (pg. 19) on February 15th, I made sure to pull it out and see what I could come up with.  And I'm happy to say that this Hello My Friend Floral Card is one of my favorite creations to date.

Using the Hello Stamp Set, Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper and Botanical Builder Framelits Dies, this beauty came to life.

For the card front, I layered opposing patterns and colors in the Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper to give the look contrast and juxtaposition.

For the flowers, I layered two of the same die cut flowers--one in Watermelon Wonder and one in Blushing Bride.  I die cut the center from Gold Glimmer Paper.  Lastly, I die cut the leaves from Gold Foil Paper.

I layered everything and finished the card off with three cupped sequins from the Love Blossoms Embellishment Kit.  Love cupped sequins!

Hello
#141240 (wood), #141243 (clear)

If you like this Hello Stamp Set, then be sure to add it as your FREE Sale-A-Bration item when you place your order of $50 or more.  There are 11 products to select from, including the Hello Stamp Set, but you'll only be able to choose this one until February 15, 2016.

You will find all of the Stampin' Up! products used to create this card below.  Order what you need by placing your order in my Online Store anytime, or click any of the photos below to go right to that item.

Be sure to stop by on Wednesday and Friday of this week for more "Fun with Flowers."  It's hard to believe it's been since August 2013 that I hosted Fun with Flowers Week.  Whew!

Flashback Friday: Boutique Blossom Birthday Wishes

Happy Friday, All!  I know that I said Fun with Flower's Week would end on Thursday, but I couldn't resist bringing flowers back one-more-'gain for today's Flashback Friday share!

This card is made with two products I surely miss:  the Boutique Blossom Single Stamp and the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack.  Because of my love of flowers, the Boutique Blossom Single Stamp was an absolute must-have when it debuted in the Spring, and the Print Poetry Stack from the 2013 Spring Catalog offered so many beautifully designed papers with infinite possibilities.

This card was inspired by one I saw on Pinterest by Patsy Wagoner.  The colors she used were very striking, so I used the colors and the design as my inspiration.  I love how the flower mingles with the designer paper.  They really compliment one another.

The retired products are:
  • Boutique Blossom Single stamp--Single Stamps Assortment 3 (2013)
  • Print Poetry DSP Stack--Spring Catalog 2013
  • 2011-2013 In Color Designer Printed Brads--Annual Catalog 2012-2013

I hope that you like this card and that I have inspired you to pull out some of your old AND new stuff, and have some crafty fun this weekend!  If you need anything, you can shop 24/7 in my Online Store.

My studio will be all abuzz this weekend because, first, one of our babysitters wants to make her best friend a scrapbook of all of their adventures, so she's going to come over tomorrow to get some help from me as she works on it.

Second, I need to put together all of my swaps for next week's Luv 2 Stamp Meeting.  Woohoo!

And, lastly, the man in the big brown truck dropped off some goodies for me earlier this week, so I'll dive into that and see what kind of trouble I can get into.  It's going to be a great weekend...I can't wait to play!

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend and happy crafting!  See you back here on Monday where I'll share some holiday card inspiration all week long.

Fun with Flower's Week: Scalloped Flower MADNESS!!!

Hi, Everyone!  To wrap-up Fun with Flower's Week, I thought I'd go out with a BIG BANG!  How about three cards featuring different designs but with the same flower?!  I just LOVE the flowers I can make with the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch, so I punched a bunch of them--15 to be exact--and set out to make three different cards featuring gorgeous scalloped flowers.

For the first two, I went to my go-to floral patterned paper from the Birthday Basics Designer Series Paper.  I just love this paper and can't get enough of it!  For the first card, I kept it simple and made a birthday card.  I love the flourishes on the stamped sentiment and die cut it with the coordinating die from the Apothecary Accents Framelits.

For the second card, I went a little "retro" and pulled out my Labels Collection Framelits.  They've been around for a while, but they are a classic, well-loved set of Framelits.  I also couldn't resist pulling out my A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set and using that adorably scripted "just because" sentiment.  It's so perfect for this card!

I finished this card off with my favorite leaves from the Secret Garden Framelits around the flower and some Candy Dots on the sentiment.  LOVE, LOVE this card!

For my third and final card, I turned to the always elegant Framed Tulips Embossing Folder.  For my card base, I used the same color as the flower--Raspberry Ripple--but made sure to offset it with contrasting colors like Pacific Point, Summer Starfruit and Gumball Green.

I love ALL of these cards and hope that you do too!  If you'd like to know how to make these scalloped flowers for your own crafty creations, please click HERE for a quick tutorial.

I hope that you have enjoyed Fun with Flower's Week, and I look forward to challenging myself again to create things around a central theme in the weeks and months to come.  You never know what might tickle my fancy.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time, have a great day and happy crafting!  I'll be back tomorrow with Flashback Friday, and it just might be flowers too.  We'll see.

Lisa
