Beauty of the Earth Thinking of You

Welcome to the Luv 2 Stamp Group's 2021 Blog Hop!  We are excited to share projects with you this year, and we hope to inspire you to create beautiful new projects.  Each month, we will have a different theme based on next month's celebrations using Stampin' Up! products.

Once you are done with each post, scroll down to the bottom and you will see a list of Blog Hop participants.  You can click on their name to go to their post, or you can click the next button to go to the next post in line.  This month’s theme is What's New.  So, what's new?  the Beauty of the Earth Suite is what's new!

As soon as I saw the Beauty of the Earth Suite in the new Annual Catalog on pages 10-11, I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and see what I could create!  I love nature, and this Suite speaks to my soul.

I think what I love most in this Suite is the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper.  The colors and designs allow for endless possibilities for both backgrounds and trees.  The richness and depth of the colors in the designer series paper really stand out.

For this Beauty of the Earth Thinking of You Card, I grabbed some Merry Merlot cardstock and used it for my card base, and I used it for my card front as well for a tone on tone look.  I embossed the 4" x 5-1/4" piece for my card front using the Bark 3D Embossing Folder to punch it up a bit, and, boy, did it!

I also wanted to use some of the new, amazing gold metallic paper from the Gold & Rose Gold 6" x 6" Metallic Specialty Paper, which is absolutely gorgeous!!  As soon as I saw its brilliance and shine, I grabbed the Ornate Layers Dies and die cut some to layer behind my tree.  However, because my die cut piece was a little on the bright side, I layered on a 2-1/16" x 5" piece of Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper over the top of it to dampen it down a bit.

I then made my tree using the Beautiful Trees Dies, some Mossy Meadow cardstock and more Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper for both the tree's branches and trunk (one die) as well as the leaves (another die).

I finished this card off by die cutting two birds from the Beautiful Trees Dies from Cajun Craze cardstock, stamped and die cut my sentiment using Early Espresso ink from Crumb Cake cardstock using the Beautiful Trees Dies, tied on some linen twine from my stash, and added some Gilded Gems.

The Beauty of the Earth Suite is one of the best suites in the new Catalog, and I hope it's on your Shopping List because it's a must-have!  You can make cards and gifts with it for just about every occasion, especially for masculine projects.

I love this card! It's soft and bold in all the right places. What do you think?

Love you {a lot} Dad

First, I'd like to send Happy Father's Day wishes to all of the dads out there!  Second, I'd like to wish my own father and fiancé the happiest of Father's Day's today as well.  We will be seeing my dad bright and early this morning for our typical Father's Day ritual...brunch at his favorite seafood restaurant for a delicious all inclusive brunch buffet.

So in typical Father's Day fashion, I made both of my favorite men handmade Father's Day cards.  They both like receiving my cards, so I love coming up with something special for them.

For this year's Father's Day cards, I made Love You (a lot) Dad Cards using the stamp set from the "Love You A Lot" April 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit.

I followed the deconstructed sketch 190 for my design.

In order to achieve the stacked stamp look, I grabbed my Clear Block I and stacked the four stamps that I needed one right over the other (as shown below).  I practiced several times on my Grid Paper to make sure they were perfectly aligned before stamping the words onto my Very Vanilla Cardstock.

You may not be able to see them all that well in the pictures, but I finished off the cards with our Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers--two small circles and one large.

I wanted to keep the cards "manly," so I stopped at adding only three Itty Bitty Accents Epoxy Stickers.  You might find this hard to believe, but this is the first time I've used them.  Now I LOVE them!  It was the Tin of Cards Project Kit that showed me just how fun they are to use.  Who knew?!

I love these cards, and I can't wait to see what my dad and my Howard think about them!

If you have the April 2015 Paper Pumpkin Kit and you haven't already made it, you've got oodles of cards, tags and gifts you can make with this stamp set and project kit.  Check out some ideas on Stampin' Up!'s April 2015 Paper Pumpkin Pinterest page.

Celebrate Real Nice...A Masculine Version

Hi Crafty Friends!  As promised, I'm back with a masculine version of the Celebrate Real Nice Card I shared with you all on Monday.

I must admit that it can be a real challenge sometimes to come up with masculine cards, but this patterned paper with the cute little party hats from the Birthday Bash Speciality Designer Series Paper fits the bill perfectly.

The weekend after my workshop, Julian and I had his friend's birthday party to attend, and I knew just what to make for his friend's card.  I had to make it quickly (story of my life lately), so please forgive the no-so-perfect stamping.

This card is just as cheery and bright as the original card, but one that a little boy could appreciate.

I love that I was able to use some of that new Tangelo Twist Thick Baker's Twine in the In Color Accessory Pack (a new FREE Sale-a-Bration item) on this card.  It added just the right pop of color and some texture.

I even stamped the inside with balloons and a sentiment.  And all I had to do was sign it, and we were on our merry way.

Another fun card, folks!  Don't you love this Birthday Bash Speciality Designer Series Paper?  I can't stop reaching for it.  Do you have some?  If not, you need some!

You will find all of the products I used to create this card below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store or click any of the links to go right to that item.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.  Be sure to stop by next week to see what we made in my VERY FIRST stamping and technique class.  It's all about nifty gift giving ideas.  Until next time, happy crafting!

A Mustache & Birthday Wishes

Happy Thursday, All!  And I'd also like to wish my Honey a very happy birthday too!  You don't hear me talk about him much on my blog, and you've never seen a picture of him either.  Let me just say that's no accident!

My fiancé, Howard, is an EXTREMELY private person, and he asked me years ago NEVER to post his picture to Facebook or on my blog because he likes to keep a low profile.

Just so you know that he's no weirdo (LOL!), he was a police officer and sergeant for many years in a major city in our area, so he has many reasons for requesting that his personal life stay offline.  I hope you can understand where he's coming from.  He's actually one of the sweetest, funniest, smartest guys a girl could ask for!

Anyway, I made this fun Mustache Birthday Wishes Card for him.  He has had a mustache since I've known him, so when I saw the Mustache Framelit Die in the new Catalog, I just had to have it.

This card was put together pretty quickly once I figured out which colors and sentiment I wanted to use.  It's a fun masculine card for all occasions.  All you do is change the greeting.  I just love it, and I hope that you like it too!

Well, that's all for today, folks.  You will find all of the products I used to create this card below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store, or click any of the links below to go right to that item.

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Until next time, happy crafting!
