My First Stampin' Up! Workshop!

On Saturday, September 7th, I had my 1st Stampin' Up! Workshop!  I have been a customer for years and only became a demonstrator in August 2012 to support my crafting habit.  So I've been to plenty of Stampin' Up! parties in the past, but being the demonstrator was a new, fun experience!

My display over the wet bar (I had to improvise)

This August during a wine event, I met this very nice lady, Traci, and we learned during our conversation that she was a paper crafter like myself.  So when she said that she wanted to have a Stampin' Up! party, I said "of course!"  She invited her friends, Lemyrtle and Wendy, and they all came over for some fun.

We held the workshop at my house, and that took a lot of the pressure off.  Instead of hosting it in my Craft Room, at the last minute I had to move the party into our dining room because the entire San Francisco Bay Area was experiencing record-setting heat that day, and it was going to be in the high 90's!  Since my Craft Room is our converted 2-car garage--no insulation!--we would not have stood a chance working in that heat.  But with the AC blasting, we made two cards and had a great time!

(she hadn't crafted in 3 years till that day!)

To show my appreciation to Traci for hosting and to her guests for coming, I made each of them this adorable Thank You card using the new Thinlits Card Dies.  I tried my hand at two different flip cards, but I still need some practice, so I went back to basics to get the job done.

I really enjoyed playing with my new Thinlits Card Dies and all of the coordinating pieces!  I can't wait to pull them out again! Thanks for stopping by today!  Until next time, happy crafting!

Lisa, congratulations on your first workshop! From the appearance of all your displays and the set-up, it looks like you certainly knew what you were doing. I know the other women had a wonderful time. Good luck on more in the future.
