It's been a while since I shared a project with you, so I dropped everything to put this share together.
The last three weeks of August have been cray-cray! My family and I went on a last hurrah--AKA vacation--before school started back again. But before we took off, we had to finish school clothes and school supply shopping, we had to pack...you know the drill.
Anyway, I made this card a few weeks ago, and I've been dying to share it with you! I absolutely adore the Jar of Jove Stamp Set and Everyday Jars Framelits (get the Bundle for 10% savings!). The wealth of possibilities is truly endless!
I made this Sending Love Card using my favorite new product--Watercolor Paper. {As it turns out, I don't have a knack for watercoloring stamped images, but I'm pretty good at making watercolor backgrounds, so that's the strength of my talent for now.}
I started my background with a couple of drops of Bermuda Bay and Crushed Curry (from ink refills) and an Aqua Painter.
I covered the entire background in a wash of Crushed Curry first, then went over it with just a touch of Bermuda Bay at the top. Once I achieved hues of color I wanted--blue on top, green in the middle, and yellow at the bottom--I stopped.
I also die cut the large jar from the Everyday Jars Framelits and watercolored the sides of the jar in Bermuda Bay. I used a very steady hand to achieve this watercolor look.
I finished off the card by adding:
- a Delicate White Doily,
- a strip of Sahara Sand Cardstock that I embossed using the Seaside Embossing Folder and then tore off one end,
- some die cut hearts cut from the Wish Big Wish Big Framelits Dies, and
- some Basic Black Solid Baker's Twine around the neck of my jar
I added my sentiment by stamping the word "sending" first using the Sunshine Sayings Stamp Set, then added the die cut word "love" using the Sunshine Wishes Thinlits and another die cut heart.
This is such a sweet card, and I can't wait to send it to someone who needs some love! How would one of your friends or family members like to receive a card like this?
