IKEA Color Inspiration & Mini Blog Hop

Hi Crafty Friends!  I'm back again with my troupe of crafty friends--Cindee, Patty and Wendy--to share some projects we created based on the colors we spotted on our field trip to IKEA last week.

I LOVE color, and IKEA had lots of it…everywhere!

We kept seeing polka dot pillows in several color variations.  They are definitely eye-catching, don't you think?  Two of these pillows gave me some great color inspiration, and I can't wait to share what I came up with!

Color Inspiration #1

When I saw this polka dot pillow, I also saw some of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors--Night of Navy, Tango Tangerine, Smoky Slate, Rich Razzleberry and Primrose Petals.  Taking these brilliant colors, I created this Life Doesn't Have to be Perfect Card based on a sketch I pinned to my Sketches :: Cards Pinterest board a few days ago.

I used new elements and one retired element for this card.  The sketch called for stripes on one of the elements, so I had to whip out my Stylish Stripes Embossing Folder from the 2013 Holiday Catalog to make that possible.

I believe that these colors work very well together.

I decided to add a little bit of detail to the inside of the card as well.

I love how this card turned out and hope that you like it too!  So, what do you think?

Color Inspiration #2

When I saw this owl pillow, I saw Mambo Melon, Tango Tangerine, Old Olive, Basic Black and Whisper White.  Using these bright colors, I created this Thank You Flower Card based on another sketch I pinned to my Sketches :: Cards Pinterest Board a few days ago.

I couldn't resist whipping out my Spiral Flower Die for the flower.  (You know how much I love this die if you've been visiting me here for the past couple of months.  If not, check out one of my favorite cards featuring this double spiral flower.)

I don't care that this card isn't mailable…it's beautiful!

This flower is more of an anemone than a rose like I've made in the past.  Using the Fringe Scissors and a small piece of Basic Black Cardstock, I created the center of the flower to give it more oomph.  I also used the retired Blossom Petals XL Punch, which is currently on the Clearance Rack, for my petals.  So, what do you think about this one?

I love this card too, and I hope that I have inspired you to play with color…and lots of it…as well as whip out your old and new Stampin' Up! supplies and discover for yourself just how well all of our products play together.  You will find a list of all the supplies I used to make these cards below.

Well, that's all folks.  Be sure to see what Cindee, Patty and Wendy have to share as well.

Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting!

Glittered Greetings

Hi Crafty Friends!  Another week almost over.  Can you believe it?  I'm speechless.

Anyway, I'm here to share two fun cards that I simply adore.  These two Glittered Greetings are brought to you by me and Stampin' Up!'s monthly Paper Pumpkin subscription.

I restarted my Paper Pumpkin subscription after about a 3-month hiatus because I simply didn't have the time to make the kits, and the boxes were stacking up.  But Stampin' Up! has completely re-done the kits by including lots more than they did previously, so I decided to give it another try.

What I like most about the new kits is that you now get 8 cards/projects to make instead of only 4, and the stamp sets are in Photopolymer instead of rubber clear mount.  I don't know about you, but I really like being able to see EXACTLY where I'm going to stamp.

When it arrived, I ran from the mailbox into the house, opened the box and started crafting right away.  I love everything about this Glittered Greetings Kit!

The card bases have watercolor stripes in Coastal Cabana…a true favorite color of mine.  And the wooden sentiments are my absolute favorite!  So much so that I ordered 3 refill kits.

So guess what?!  When you start your Paper Pumpkin subscription on or by March 31st with me, you will get 2012-2014 In-Color Markers ($14.95 value) for FREE!

And that's not all, folks!  I'm also going to throw in your choice of Rhinestones or Pearls ($4.95 value) for FREE so that you can add a little extra bling to your cards and projects for months to come.

Sign up TODAY and get your Markers and the Welcome Kit (not the April Kit like I said originally…sorry!) on the way!  Once you're done signing up, send me an email letting me know which Rhinestones or Pearls you'd like.

4.  Large Pearl Basic Jewels

Once you're a subscriber, you can also purchase past kits and refill kits to add to your Paper Pumpkin and crafting supplies.  So much FUN!  Check out past kits and refills available for sale HERE.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thanks for stopping by today and happy crafting!
