Nifty Gift Giving: So Proud of You Mini Treat Bag & A TUTORIAL

Hello Everyone!  I'm back with the third of four projects we made in my "Nifty Gifties" class this past weekend.  When I created this project, I wanted it to be something that my class attendees and I would be proud to give to any graduate.

So what do you put in these cute little treat bags?  Our Stampin' Up! Notecards fit perfectly, or you can tuck a gift card and a little note inside.  Just like the Gift Card Envelope and Curvy Keepsake Box, the possibilities with this Mini Treat Bag are endless!

The design is shabby chic, not neat and perfect.  First, I wanted a "pop" of color and, second, some texture.  I believe I accomplished the pop of color with the Rich Razzleberry and Strawberry Slush cardstock, and the texture with the Gold Glimmer Paper and crumpled flowers.

I was also sure to include some of that wonderful Typeset Designer Series Paper.  When I ordered it last summer, I thought I would use it on nearly every project.  However, I've only used it a few times, so it was high time to put it back to work.

Once I had all of my pieces cut, I laid them out a few different ways until I settled on this design.  Nearly everything is off-center, and that was definitely on purpose.

THE STEPS ::
  1. Die cut the Mini Treat Bag from Crumb Cake Cardstock with the Big Shot.  Score first and adhere with Sticky Strip.
  2. Die cut a large circle from Rich Razzleberry Cardstock using the Circles Collection Framelits Dies and a slightly smaller starburst from Gold Glimmer Paper using the Starburst Framelits Dies.
  3. Cut a 1-1/4" x 4-1/4" strip from the Typeset Designer Series Paper and banner cut both ends.
  4. Cut a 1/2" x 4" strip of Very Vanilla Cardstock and stamp the right side with "So Proud of" from the Crazy About You Stamp Set.  Banner cut the right side.
  5. With Strawberry Slush Ink, stamp the flower from the Crazy About You Stamp Set once onto Strawberry Slush Cardstock and punch with the Flower Medallion Punch.
  6. Punch two more flowers from Strawberry Slush Cardstock.
  7. Die cut "You" from Basic Black Cardstock using the Hello You Framelits Dies with the Big Shot.
  8. With Coastal Cabana Ink, stamp only the center of the flower from the Crazy About You Stamp Set onto Coastal Cabana Cardstock.  Punch with the 1/2" Circle Punch.
  9. Use a strong adhesive, such as Fast Fuse, to layer the circles and banners onto the treat bag.
  10. Crumple first (yes, crumple!), then smooth the flowers.  Put a Stampin' Dimensional in between each layer and add to the bag.
  11. Add the word "You" to the bag with a couple of dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.

Here's a video from Stampin' Up! showing you how to create with your Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies.

I hope you like this mini treat bag!  If you don't already have this set of dies, you should want them by now.  I simply adore what they can do and hope that you do too.
