Hydrangea Haven You Make Me Smile

I don't know what it is about flowers, but they make me happy.  And the Hydrangea Hill Suite allows me to create with and share my love of flowers with friends and loved ones effortlessly (MC, p. 18-20).

The Hydrangea Hill Designer Series Paper in this Suite is beyond pretty--both A & B sides--so it wasn't hard to pick two faves and get started on this Hydrangea Haven You Make Me Smile Card.

I first stamped and die cut my flower using Tuxedo Black Memento ink.  I then filled in the image with the watercolor leaf stamp using Old Olive ink.  I then layered on the die cut outline of the leaves from Old Olive cardstock and cut the hydrangea from a piece of Designer Series Paper to give it additional color not easily achieved with stamping.

The gingham pieces at the top and bottom of my large scalloped rectangle from the Stitched So Sweetly Dies were created using the Delightful Tag Topper Punch and Everyday Label Punch.

I also layered on a few more elements--small die cut flowers from the Hydrangea Dies and some of that Gorgeous Grape 3/8" Sheer Ribbon wrapped around the flower stem.

This card makes me smile, and I hope it does the same for the person who receives it!
