When I saw the Season of Cheer product suite in the Holiday Catalog on pp. 28-29, I knew I wanted EVERYTHING on the page! But more than anything, I had to have the Joyful Season Stamp Set to start making my Christmas cards.
As soon as I saw it, I had card ideas swirling around in my head, and this Joyful Season Card was one of the first I sat down to make. Using the Joyful Season Stamp Set, Boughs & Berries Embossing Folder, Winter Wonderland Designer Washi Tape, and Home for Christmas Designer Buttons, this card was quick, fun and easy to put together.
The first thing I did was run a piece of 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Real Red Cardstock in the Boughs & Berries Embossing Folder through the Big Shot. Then I cut a piece of Very Vanilla Cardstock to 3" x 4-1/4" and stamped my branch in Early Espresso, two-step stamped my bird in Basic Black Archival and Real Red ink, and then my sentiment in Mossy Meadow and Real Red.
To get the word "Season" all by itself, I used my Real Red Stampin' Write Marker to color in just that word and stamped like usual (see the Marker to Stamp Technique video below). Because the sentiment piece was still a little blah, I stamped some snow, using the stamp that can be either snow or fill in the berries on the branches, around the bird in Crumb Cake ink.
I finished this card off with some gold striped washi tape from the Winter Wonderland Designer Washi Tape, a strip of Gold Glimmer Paper, and an adorable poinsettia button from the Home for Christmas Designer Buttons with a little Linen Thread tied on.
