Happy Watercolor

Hi Friends!  I hope that you had a nice weekend!  Mine was great, and I'm so glad that I was able to fit everything in that I wanted to do.  One of those things was to make a new project.

I couldn't decide at first if I wanted to jump into my new Project Life by Stampin' Up! stuff or make a card or two with the two new stamp sets that I got at the Stampin' Up! Catalog Premiere.  I tried out the new stamp sets, but they weren't doing it for me, even though I tried really hard to make something work.  So I decided that playing with the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set was the answer to my crafting dilemma.

I don't know if you have heard it through the grapevine yet, but the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set will not be in the upcoming Annual Catalog.  I could have cried when I didn't see it in there!  I just LOVE this stamp set, and although I've created several cards with it to date, I still love to play with it.  If you've been thinking about getting it, now is the time to do so before it is no longer available after June 1st.

So to give it one last hurrah, I made this Happy Watercolor Card.  I know that watercoloring is all the rage, but I've been slow to jump on the bandwagon.  Therefore, I haven't bought any of our Watercolor Paper, but I decided to whip out my Aqua Painter and give the technique a try on some Whisper White Cardstock just to see what would happen.

I knew the paper would warp, but I decided to put my inner perfectionist on hold for the time being.  As you may be able to tell in these pictures, I got some of the color to run, and that was my goal.  I even fussy cut the flower, and I NEVER do that!

Once I added all of the embellishments, I was quite pleased with this card.  I love the bright and cheery colors in this card--what people say my designs are known for--but I also appreciate the "messiness" of the semi-watercoloring.  Because of this, on my next Stampin' Up! order, I'm going to go ahead and order some of our Watercolor Paper.

I hope that you like this card, but I realize that I may be the only one.  It makes me smile when I look at it, and I hope that it makes you do the same.  If you enjoy watercoloring or think that it's a new technique you might want to try, you will find all of the products that I used to create this card below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store or click any of the pictures to go right to that item.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day and happy crafting!
