My First Stampin' Up! Workshop!

On Saturday, September 7th, I had my 1st Stampin' Up! Workshop!  I have been a customer for years and only became a demonstrator in August 2012 to support my crafting habit.  So I've been to plenty of Stampin' Up! parties in the past, but being the demonstrator was a new, fun experience!

This August during a wine event, I met this very nice lady, Traci, and we learned during our conversation that she was a paper crafter like myself.  So when she said that she wanted to have a Stampin' Up! party, I said "of course!"  She invited her friends, Lemyrtle and Wendy, and they all came over for some fun.

We held the workshop at my house, and that took a lot of the pressure off.  Instead of hosting it in my Craft Room, at the last minute I had to move the party into our dining room because the entire San Francisco Bay Area was experiencing record-setting heat that day, and it was going to be in the high 90's!  Since my Craft Room is our converted 2-car garage--no insulation!--we would not have stood a chance working in that heat.  But with the AC blasting, we made two cards and had a great time!

(she hadn't crafted in 3 years till that day!)

To show my appreciation to Traci for hosting and to her guests for coming, I made each of them this adorable Thank You card using the new Thinlits Card Dies.  I tried my hand at two different flip cards, but I still need some practice, so I went back to basics to get the job done.

I really enjoyed playing with my new Thinlits Card Dies and all of the coordinating pieces!  I can't wait to pull them out again! Thanks for stopping by today!  Until next time, happy crafting!

Gratitude

Happy Monday, All!  I hope that you had a nice weekend!  It's so hard to believe that we're already halfway through September.   For today's share, I made a simple yet beautiful Thanksgiving card.  Using the Harvest of Thanks Stamp Set, Sweater Weather DSP, and several of our Framelits Dies collections, this card came together very quickly.

This Harvest of Thanks Stamp Set coordinates wonderfully with a few of our Framelits Dies, and I'm a sucker for just about anything that coordinates with Framelits Dies.  Do you have this problem too?

I LOVE this Sweater Weather DSP, so you'll be seeing it a lot more in the coming weeks.  It's hard to believe, but there are some patterns I have yet to play with.

Thanks so much for stopping by!  Until next time, happy crafting!

Flashback Friday: Toxic Treats

Happy Friday the 13th, All!  Today's shares are so fitting.  They are two Halloween cards I made using my favorite All Hallows' Eve stamp set and DSP from the 2012 Holiday Catalog that are now both retired--Toxic Treats Stamp Set and Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP.  I did not get to play with them much last year, so this was the perfect opportunity!
Using the Labels Collection Framelits Dies, I stamped and die cut my images first, then layered them onto the Howlstooth & Scaringbone DSP cut from the larger coordinating Framelits.

This DSP is SO much fun to play with.  It's so bold and unflinching!  I hope that you like these two cards.  Please leave me a comment below.

Thanks for stopping by today and enjoy your weekend!  Be sure to stop by next week as I'll have a giveaway or two for my birthday.  Until next time, happy crafting!
