----------------------------------
Hello Everyone!  I hope that you had a nice 4th of July Holiday!  My fiancé, our son and I hung around the house and played in the backyard all day.  The weather was glorious, the food was delicious, and being with my family was priceless!

Now, let's get down to business.  This card was inspired by retrosketches #70.  Since I've been playing with patterned paper so much lately, I figured I would step away from that for this challenge and pull out the NEW! 2013-2015 In Colors cardstock.

I love all of the new colors, but three of my favorites are Baked Brown Sugar, Strawberry Slush and Coastal Cabana.  These names conjure up so many things that make me happy, like baking, an icy cold drink on a hot day, and the beach!

Anyway, for this challenge I pulled out the new Beautifully Baroque Embossing Folder--a new favorite--to add some texture as well as some Champagne Glimmer Paper for a bit of bling.  This is a simple card, but I like all of the color and shabby chicness.  Shabby chic is my new calling, so I'll be dabbling in it a bit more in the weeks to come.

TIP #1:  When using our Glimmer Paper, be sure to use Glue Dots to adhere it to your project and to adhere things to it.  It's pretty slick, but Glue Dots hold up to it very well.

TIP #2:  If you like this Boutique Blossom Single Stamp (I LOVE it!), then don't wait to get one for your craft room because the current selection of Single Stamps will no longer be available after July 30, 2013.  You can view the entire collection here.

I hope that you like this card, and I especially hope that the judges over at retrosketches do!  Have a great weekend, and there are LOTS of great cards coming your way next week, so be sure to tune in.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Lisa
