Floral Frame Cards

Hi Crafty Friends!  I'm sorry that I was M.I.A. yesterday, but my son took ill on Sunday evening, so I wasn't able to blog that night as planned.  He's all better now (thank goodness!), so we can resume our regularly scheduled programming.

I hope that you had a nice weekend.  Mine was busy.  I had a garage sale on Saturday, but it was well worth the time and effort.  I'm planning for another one in April when our town hosts a Citywide Garage Sale and all of the residents are invited to participate.  Can't wait to get rid of more stuff!

Anyway, I was able to get in some crafting time last week, and I made two cards that I absolutely adore--Floral Frame Cards!

The design came to me when I was poking around on Pinterest adding some home decor ideas to my Dream House board and came across a floral embellished frame.  I dropped everything (I didn't even remember to pin the image!) and ran into my Craft Room to put my design idea to work.  If I don't do it right then, it's gone.  Does this happen to you too?

This card design is very simple.  Using our Framed Tulips Embossing Folder, Spiral Flower Originals Die and bold colors, these cards came to life.

I first embossed each card front, then measured the inside of the floral frame to cut the piece for my sentiment.  Then I stamped my sentiment and the floral detail.  I finished the cards off with three double spiral flowers, a strip of Mambo Melon Cardstock, and Very Vintage Designer Buttons with Linen Thread.

I know that these cards aren't exactly mailable with the flowers on them, but that wasn't the point of these cards.  The point was for them to be not only bold and bright but also to look like a floral frame.  So, how did I do?

I hope that you like these cards and feel inspired to make one, two, or a few for birthdays, Easter and Mother's Day.  The design is very versatile…just change the sentiment!

Well, that's all for today, folks!  All of the products I used to make these cards are listed below.  You can order what you need by going to my Online Store, or click any of the links below to go right to that item.
