A Simple Thank You

Hi Friends!  I'm back!  I hope that you haven't forgotten about me.  I surely missed checking in with you all over the last two weeks.  So, how have you been?  What have you been up to?

Just so you know, I wasn't on a beach somewhere with my feet kicked up sipping Mai Tai's.  I wish!  My break from blogging was only to attend to some other pressing matters in my life.  I won't bore you with all of the details, but things are settling down and getting back to "normal"…whatever that is.  LOL!

Enough of that.  Let's get to something fun!  On Saturday, a friend came over to make her very first card!  It turned out beautifully, but of course I forgot to take a picture.  It was also the first time that I had some time to make a few cards of my own.  I'll be sure to share them all, but today's share is a Simple Thank You Card that I just adore.  

This beauty was inspired by a true artist, Keisha Campbell.  I love her designs and couldn't resist trying my hand at a card similar to hers that is simply elegant.

For this card, I used the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set, Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper, and Spiral Flower Originals Die.  

My flower is two-tone, and for this is used Strawberry Slush and Melon Mambo Cardstock.  (For instructions on how to create your own two-tone spiral flower, please click HERE.)

To get the "paintbrush" effect behind the flower, I stamped the big watercolor stamp, overlapping it several times in White Craft Ink.  

Because this ink takes a while to dry, I let it do so naturally over a period of a 1-2 hours while I did Julian's nighttime routine and returned to finish it later.  I'm sure that a Heat Tool would dry it just fine, if you wanted to give it a try.
