The Perfect Combination: A Card that's also a Gift Card Holder!

OMG!  This blog post almost didn't happen because my older computer is not playing nice with my new camera.  I won't bore you with the details, but let's just say that I was on the phone with Apple Care TWICE yesterday.  NOT FUN!

Anyway, I did not want to miss sharing this nifty gifty with you--it's a card that's also a gift card holder!  You may recall that I shared another card that's also a gift card holder last January.  I really like that one and plan to make more, but this one is simply divine!  It's the perfect teacher's gift, graduation present, or birthday gift for coffee lovers.

I totally borrowed this idea from one that I saw on Pinterest a few weeks ago by Tabitha of Life, Crafting, and Teaching.  I HAD to make one of my own, and I am delighted to say that it was super easy to make!

To make one, you'll need:
  • A coffee cup sleeve
  • 2 pieces of coordinating patterned paper
  • Buttons
  • Twine
  • Mini Glue Dots
  • Glue Dots 1" Glue Lines (sold at big box craft stores and online retailers)

The only stamping I did was on the inside of the card...which you can't see very well...but I stamped a few hearts from the What's Up? Stamp Set.  You can see one of them peeking out from the right corner above.

THE STEPS ::
  1. Choose two pieces of coordinating patterned paper and cut one to 4" x 5-1/4" and one to 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".  Layer the smaller piece on top of the larger one and adhere to card base.
  2. Secure the inside bottom of the coffee cup sleeve with 2-3 Mini Glue Dots.  (DO NOT cut the sleeve...keep it as-is.)
  3. Wrap twine around the bottom of the sleeve and secure colorful buttons to the sleeve with Mini Glue Dots.
  4. Secure the decorated coffee cup sleeve with a strong adhesive (such as Glue Dots 1" Glue Lines...you'll need 3-4) to the patterned paper.
  5. Punch an arrow from the What's Up! Punch and die cut "For You" using the Mini Treat Bag Thinlits Dies.
  6. Adhere the arrow and die cut words in the upper left corner.  Then slip the gift card right into the sleeve.

Wallah!  Instant card and gift in one!

This is by far one of the easiest cards I've ever made...it took just minutes to make!  I.LOVE.IT!!!

I used several products I had left over from this year's Sale-a-Bration (the buttons and twine), but you will find all of the Stampin' Up! products I used to create this card that are available for purchase below.  Click HERE to place your order in my online store anytime, or click any of the photos below to go right to that item.

Until next time, happy crafting!
