You Are So Kind Card & 3-Step Stamping with Watercolor Wings

OMG!  This has been one BIG week!  So much going on...but I managed to squeeze in some crafting time, so it's all good.  My second order from Stampin' Up! arrived earlier this week with all new catalog items, so I picked out a few things to play with.

I love butterflies, as you may recall, AND I love stamp sets with coordinating dies or punches, so this Watercolor Wings Stamp Set and Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies Bundle (15% savings with the bundle!) was at the top of my list.  The first thing I made using them is this beautiful You Are So Kind Card.

I borrowed my design from a card I saw on Pinterest, and I took my color inspiration for my butterfly from my wonderful friend and Stampin' Up! Director, Patty Bennett.  Patty did an amazing job showing how to use this new bundle in her video and post!

Stampin' Up!'s Watercolor Wings Stamp Set (item #139424)

If you were around for Sale-a-Bration, this stamp set might remind you of our fabulous Lotus Blossom Stamp Set.  Everyone who tried it, had to have it.  Well, this set with its 3-step stamping but offers so much more!  You can make two different size butterflies that coordinate with 2 Framelits/Thinlits, and the color combinations for butterflies are endless!  That's HUGE!

So how did I stamp my butterfly, you ask?  Well, here's what you get when you layer Pool Party, then add Bermuda Bay, and then Island Indigo with the three large butterfly stamps in the set (below).

Then you finish it off by stamping on the butterfly's body (I stamped it in black ink).  I wanted to add the antennae to my butterfly on my card, but I was afraid I'd mess something up, so I didn't risk it.

The great thing is that you can either stamp your butterfly directly onto your card base OR stamp it and die cut it.  I chose to die cut mine with the coordinating Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies because I love being able to make the butterfly "come to life."

This card has layers of colors, stamped elements and texture too.  I achieved this look with both new and retired Stampin' Up! elements, but they were all necessary.

I hope you like this card and want to add this stamp set and the matching Framelits to your stash.  They are a must-have for nature lovers alike and for those who are looking to punch up your crafting style with some 3-step stamping!  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this bundle and can't wait to show you more beautiful card and crafting ideas with it!

TIP:  The Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies also coordinate with the Butterflies Thinlits that were introduced in the Occasions Catalog 2015.  You will find both sets on page 172 of the new Annual Catalog.

Even though they are sized differently in the pictures, the large butterfly in the Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies is the same size as the second largest butterfly in the Butterflies Thinlits.  And the smallest butterflies in both sets are the same size as well.  Gotta have them all!

You will find all of the Stampin' Up! products I used to create this card below.  Place your order in my Online Store anytime, or click any of the photos below to go right to that item.

Have a great weekend!  Until next time, happy crafting!
