Work of Art Mother's Day Card

Hi Friends!  Can you believe it's already Friday?!  This week flew by for me!  In addition to all of the stuff I had on my to-do list, playing with my preorder goodies from the NEW! Catalog was right at the top of the list.

So far, I have designed one of our team Make 'n Take for our Luv 2 Stamp Meeting next Saturday, played with a few designs for my swap (nothing is working so far!), and this beautiful Work of Art Mother's Day Card.

At Stampin' Up!'s Catalog Premiere that I attended last week, they surprised us with the Work of Art Stamp Set at the end of the event.  It will be in the new Catalog, and each demonstrator got one.  Pretty cute, right?!

This stamp set has great watercolor effects in the form of stamps very similar to the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set, which leads me to believe that Work of Art was it's replacement.  Having both would have been a little redundant, I guess, but I'm super sad to see it go.

Anyway, I needed a Mother's Day card to give to my father's girlfriend.  I knew that Mother's Day was coming, but I kind of forgot that it was coming THIS weekend.  With no time to spare, I turned to Pinterest for inspiration and a quick design, and I found a great card by Pam Strobel.  Her design was perfect for what I needed!

Using the "Happy Mother's Day" stamp that came in April's Paper Pumpkin Kit, the Work of Art Stamp Set, and some gold accents, this card is elegant but also fun.

If you need a last minute Mother's Day card like me, give this design a try.  But since you can't get your hands on the Work of Art Stamp Set yet, then pull out the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set and the Small Heart Punch, and get to work!

You will find all of the available supplies I used listed and pictured below.  You can order what you need by going to my Online Store, or click any of the links to go right to that item.

Happy Mother's Day, have a great weekend and happy crafting!

Happy Watercolor

Hi Friends!  I hope that you had a nice weekend!  Mine was great, and I'm so glad that I was able to fit everything in that I wanted to do.  One of those things was to make a new project.

I couldn't decide at first if I wanted to jump into my new Project Life by Stampin' Up! stuff or make a card or two with the two new stamp sets that I got at the Stampin' Up! Catalog Premiere.  I tried out the new stamp sets, but they weren't doing it for me, even though I tried really hard to make something work.  So I decided that playing with the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set was the answer to my crafting dilemma.

I don't know if you have heard it through the grapevine yet, but the Happy Watercolor Stamp Set will not be in the upcoming Annual Catalog.  I could have cried when I didn't see it in there!  I just LOVE this stamp set, and although I've created several cards with it to date, I still love to play with it.  If you've been thinking about getting it, now is the time to do so before it is no longer available after June 1st.

So to give it one last hurrah, I made this Happy Watercolor Card.  I know that watercoloring is all the rage, but I've been slow to jump on the bandwagon.  Therefore, I haven't bought any of our Watercolor Paper, but I decided to whip out my Aqua Painter and give the technique a try on some Whisper White Cardstock just to see what would happen.

I knew the paper would warp, but I decided to put my inner perfectionist on hold for the time being.  As you may be able to tell in these pictures, I got some of the color to run, and that was my goal.  I even fussy cut the flower, and I NEVER do that!

Once I added all of the embellishments, I was quite pleased with this card.  I love the bright and cheery colors in this card--what people say my designs are known for--but I also appreciate the "messiness" of the semi-watercoloring.  Because of this, on my next Stampin' Up! order, I'm going to go ahead and order some of our Watercolor Paper.

I hope that you like this card, but I realize that I may be the only one.  It makes me smile when I look at it, and I hope that it makes you do the same.  If you enjoy watercoloring or think that it's a new technique you might want to try, you will find all of the products that I used to create this card below.  Order what you need by going to my Online Store or click any of the pictures to go right to that item.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day and happy crafting!

Thank You Summer Silhouettes

Hi Crafty Friends!  I'm here with a card that I've been dying to share!  It's simple yet it has some great layers of color and texture.

I got my inspiration for this card from a card I saw on Pinterest.  Using the Four You Stamp Set, Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set, Arrows Embossing Folder, and Kaleidoscope Designer Series Paper, this Thank You Summer Silhouettes Card was born.

When I first bought the Summer Silhouettes Stamp Set, I saw so many great cards in my future.  But I bought more stamps, and then more, so I have barely used it.  So when I was creating this card, I knew just which stamp set to use for my flowers.

I love this card and hope that you like it too!  You will find all of the supplies I used listed and pictured below.  You can order what you need by going to my Online Store, or click any of the links to go right to that item.

Have a wonderful weekend!  Did you know that this Saturday--May 3rd--is National Scrapbook Day?!  Got any plans?

Thanks for stopping by today and happy celebrating!

Preorder Your Project Life Products starting TODAY!

Hi Crafty Friends!  Today is the BIG DAY!  You can now preorder your Project Life products before the Annual Catalog is released!

If you haven't heard all the buzz, Project Life is a super simple, no-brainer solution to traditional scrapbooking.  Using Photo Pocket Pages, you insert your pictures and card collections like the Everyday Adventure Collection shown below as well as coordinating accessories and stamps that help tell the story of your and your families' adventures.

The reason for all the craze that is Project Life is that it takes all of the time and "fussiness" out of documenting your memories.  I can surely relate because I haven't scrapbooked in years, and my fiancé is really excited to see me restart with Project Life because he and our son, Julian, love looking at pictures of our family trips, holidays, and other special occasions.

Because of them, I bought EVERY Project Life product that Stampin' Up! offered during the preorder period, and I'm so happy that you can now do the same!

With each order of $50 or more that you place with me between May 1-5, 2014 AND your order includes at least one Project Life product, you will be entered to win the Project Life Journaling Pens and Corner Punch for FREE ($12.90 value)!

Find all of our Project Life products available for purchase in my Online Store.

The BEST news is that Stampin' Up! has partnered with the creator of Project Life, Becky Higgins, so you are getting superior printing and quality in these products.  And, all of the products feature Stampin' Up! colors and coordinate beautifully.

I can assure you that you won't find these products at your local big box craft store…they will ALWAYS only be sold through Stampin' Up! demonstrators, like me, so you don't have to worry about you or your friends finding the same products at 40% off later on down the road.

Any questions?  Please let me know.  Thank you for stopping by today and happy crafting!
