Happy Friday, Everyone! I'm so glad the weekend is here! There's lots of fun stuff planned like crafting with some friends on Saturday and antiquing on Sunday...that is if I have any energy left after Saturday. We'll see!
For today's Flashback Friday share, I made a wedding card for my friend using two retired stamp sets that I still love to play with--Perfectly Preserved and Word Play. Perfectly Preserved was last seen in the 2012 Holiday Catalog, and Word Play was last spotted in the 2012-2013 Annual Catalog.
Stampin' Up!'s Perfectly Preserved
Stampin' Up!'s Word Play
I got my inspiration from a few cards I saw on Pinterest and mulled over which products I would use to execute my design. I first sketched my design and then went to work. Terrified to make a mistake, I first made a sample using Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, and Pumpkin Pie as my color scheme.
The "Test Run"
For the final version of this card, I used my friend's actual wedding colors--Orange (Tangerine Tango) and Black (Basic Black).
The "Real Deal"
The Steps for the Flower Bunch:
- Using the flower bunch stamp from the Perfectly Preserved Stamp Set, stamp about 18-20 flowers in matching ink and cardstock.
- Punch out the flowers using the 7/8" Scallop Circle Punch.
- Adhere the flowers with Mini Glue Dots to a scrap piece of cardstock cut from the 2-1/2" Circle Punch.
- Cut stems from a 2-1/2" x 4" piece of Gumball Green Cardstock leaving 1/2" uncut from the top.
- Fold the Gumball Green Cardstock onto itself making it approximately 1/2" wide.
- Trim the ends of the stems individually at an angle with Paper Snips.
- Wrap Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon around the stems and adhere with a Mini Glue Dot.
- Add stems to back of circle with flower bunch with a Mini Glue Dot.
- Finish off with a bow made from Very Vanilla 1/2" Seam Binding Ribbon and adhere with a Mini Glue Dot.
- Adhere the completed flower bunch to your card base with Stampin' Dimensionals behind the circle and Multipurpose Liquid Glue behind the ribbon-wrapped stems.
I LOVE both of these cards and hope that you like them too! If you do, please leave me a comment below and/or pin either one to your crafty or wedding Pinterest board(s). Although wedding season is over, maybe the next time there is a wedding, hopefully I've inspired you to make a handmade card.
Have a great weekend, and, until next time, happy crafting!
Lisa
