Flower Fun: Part 1

Hi Friends!  Happy Sunday!  I'm coming to you a day early because my fabulous stampin' friends--Patty and Cindee--and I got together the other day to celebrate Cindee's birthday, and we had a mini Stamp-A-Rama to share some fun projects with each other.  We had so much fun that we also want to share them with you too!  How about a mini Blog Hop over the next three days?!

Patty and Cindee both shared projects featuring fun flowers, so this first project is Flower Fun: Part 1, featuring Patty's fun shares.  Let the sharing begin!

Patty shared some beautiful cards she made using our Watercolor Wonder Designer Note Cards, the Flowering Flourishes Stamp Set and our new Petite Petals Punch, and Cindee and I each picked a design we wanted to recreate.  This is the design I chose, but Cindee picked a different one.  You will find all of the cards Patty made on her blog HERE, and Cindee's design HERE.

I stamped my flourish in Gumball Green and my sentiment in Tangerine Tango.  Using the Petite Petals Punch, I punched the flowers out of some of the Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper.  What a cute card!

We also played with the new Spiral Flower Originals Die.

I added my flowers to this fun Life Doesn't Have to be Perfect Card because I have been waiting for the "perfect" card to use that sentiment from the Perfect Pennants Stamp Set.

Flower colors:

Yellow:  Crushed Curry & Daffodil Delight
Pink:  Crisp Cantaloupe & Melon Mambo
Blue:  Bermuda Bay & Coastal Cabana

The Steps (for totally awesome spiral flowers):
  1. Die cut up to 4 flowers at a time from a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of cardstock using the Spiral Flower Originals Die and the Big Shot.
  2. Go around each flower individually with your Bone Folder to break up the stiff paper fibers.
  3. Add some 70% Alcohol to a Stampin' Spritzer and spray the curled flowers.
  4. Take two of the flowers and roll them together using 5" tweezers
  5. Allow them to dry (about 5 minutes) and finish off with some hot glue at the base of each flower.

I LOVE how both of these cards turned out, and hope that you feel inspired to have some fun with flowers today too.  All of the supplies for both projects are listed below.

Click on the links below to stop by Patty's and Cindee's blogs to see what they came up with.

I'll be back tomorrow with Part 2.  Enjoy today.

Thanks for stopping by!  Until next time, happy crafting!

Love the first card (Watercolor Wonder note card)! Was looking for bright & cheery card ideas to chase away the dreary winter day I see outside my window...and the first card I see is YOURS. Perfect! Thanks for sharing.
