Spiral Flower Box & Vase (Tutorials too!)

Love is in the air.  Can you feel it?  I've definitely been feeling the love.  So much so that I created not one but two 3-D projects using our fabulous Spiral Flower Originals Die.  If you don't have this die yet, then I hope that I inspire you to get one for your craft room for oodles and hours of crafting fun!

I made this Flower Box of Chocolates for my love using three of the prettiest colors in the rainbow--Strawberry Slush, Coastal Cabana, and Crisp Cantaloupe.  I love how it turned out!

The Steps:
  1. Make a wrapper for the acetate sleeve with a piece of 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" Coastal Cabana Cardstock using the Simply Score Scoring Tool.
  2. Trim the cardstock with our Crisp Cantaloupe 3/8" Ruffle Stretch Trim adhering it with Sticky Strip.
  3. Adhere the wrapper to the acetate sleeve with Sticky Strip.
  4. Make three (3) double spiral flowers using Strawberry Slush and Crisp Cantaloupe Cardstock.  (Check out my instructions HERE.)
  5. Place a Large Basic Pearl in the center of each flower.
  6. Stamp your sentiment onto a 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of Whisper White Cardstock with Real Red and snip the ends to make a banner.  Curl the banner end with the Bone Folder.
  7. Adhere each flower to the wrapper with hot glue, and you're done!

For the Spiral Flowers in a Vase, I got my inspiration from one of my fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrators, Jo Anne Hewins.  Jo Anne shared her flowers in salt and pepper shakers on our exclusive Luv 2 Stamp Group Facebook Page.  What a cute idea, right?!  I too wanted some Spiral Flowers to brighten my craft room.

I bought my "vase" from one of the big box bed and bath stores…it's a cheese shaker (cost $2.49).  And I bought the stems from one of the big box fabric stores (cost $1.99).

I made three (3) double Cherry Cobbler flowers and two (2) double Cherry Cobbler and Strawberry Slush flowers.  The steps for making the flowers are the same as in step #4 above, but you need to add the stems (approximately 9") and a little greenery as the base of each flower.

The Steps:
  1. Punch five (5) flower bases using our Pansy Punch from Garden Green Cardstock.
  2. Punch a small hole in the center of each flower base and thread approximately 1/4" of the stem through.  Fold over and adhere with hot glue.
  3. Adhere the flowers to each of the bases with stems with hot glue.
  4. Fill the vase with a bit of Garden Green shredded paper by cutting some scraps with our Fringe Scissors.
  5. Finish off the vase by adding some of our Gumball Green 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon.
I hope that you have enjoyed these projects and feel inspired to make some of your own.  Please let me know what you think by leaving me a comment below.

I suggest making the Flower Box of Chocolates for a friend or loved one and making the Spiral Flowers in a Vase for your craft room.  That way, you both get to feel the love.

Here's a quick video from Stampin' Up! with more details on how to make our fabulous Spiral Flowers.
