Thanks Kindly

Today's share is a bit out of the box for me, but I ABSOLUTELY love how it turned out!  I challenged myself to use two new products--the new In Color Mint Macaron and English Garden Designer Series Paper.

I took some inspiration from a few cards I saw on Pinterest, and this Thanks Kindly Card is what I came up with.  Thank goodness I found the two packages of Tea Lace Doilies that had eluded me for months because this card was begging for one.

For this card, I thought the floral side of one of the English Garden Designer Series Papers was going to be the perfect backdrop for my sentiment.  But it wasn't working, so I turned it over to the B-side.  Even if it's a bit tone-on-tone with the Mint Macaron card base, it works.  I did use a small strip of the   floral pattern at the bottom of the card, which I really like as well.

I pulled out my Bird Builder Punch for the leaves and the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack flower for the flowers.  I added Candy Dots to the centers to give them a bit more "pop."

Before it was all said and done, this card was feeling a little "flat," so I finished it off by rounding the upper left corner and adding two Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the lower left corner.  These finishing touches seemed to really do the trick.

So, what do you think?  How do you like this card?  Please leave me a comment below.

Floral Wings Thank You

Are you ready for more butterfly goodness?!  For the final card we made in my July Card Class, I created this Floral Wings Thank You Card using the hostess stamp set Floral Wings and the coordinating Bold Butterflies Framelits Dies.

My design inspiration came from our Stampin' Up! July/August 2015 Stampin' Success magazine.  (It's just one of the many perks of being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator!)  I would share a picture of the original, but it's against Stampin' Up! policy.  Sorry :(

This card is so crisp and clean, and I love how it shows off In Colors from both of the 2014-2016 and 2015-2017 In Color families--Tangelo TwistMossy MeadowMint Macaron (all are in the butterfly), and Delightful Dijon (in the washi tape).

I also love how both of the Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies are in the design.  I am truly smitten with the new butterfly stamp sets and dies in the new catalog!

I can't get enough, and my class attendees were quite smitten as well.  Every.single.one.of.them bought a set of the Watercolor Wings and Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies bundle (15% savings) as a result!  How could they not?!  And you should too, if you haven't done so already.

You will find all of the Stampin' Up! products used to create this card below.  Keep in mind that you can either be one of my hostesses or host a "party of one" by placing an order of $150 or more to purchase your own Floral Wings Stamp Set with your Stampin' Rewards.  Place your order in my Online Store anytime, or click any of the photos below to go right to that item.

Until next time, happy crafting!

How to Make Your Own Butterfly Stamps!

Are you ready for the coolest thing since the invention of the iPad?!  Well, I've got it!  How about making your own stamps?!  As promised from yesterday, this is a whopper of a post, so, if you can, grab a cup of joe and visit with me for a minute.

My friend Patty Bennett, stamper extraordinaire, shared a card with me and Cindee Wilkinson the other day when we got together to stamp, and I nearly fell out of my chair!  When I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for my July Card Class!

The background for this Thank You Butterfly Card was stamped with stamps I made using dies from the Bold Butterfly Framelits and Butterflies Thinlits and some sticky back Fun Foam.  Yeah...you're going to want both sets of dies.

THE STEPS ::
  1. Buy some sticky back Fun Foam sheets from your big box craft store.  (I bought mine from Hobby Lobby.)
  2. Cut a strip to size and die cut just like you would from a sheet of cardstock.  (TIP:  Because the foam is thicker than paper, I recommend running it through your Big Shot 2-3 times.)
  3. Remove die cut butterflies from foam strip and use your Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the die cut pieces.
  4. Remove sticky back and adhere die cut butterflies to Clear Blocks.  Tap your stamp in the ink pad 2-4 times and use like any other stamp.  You can clean them too!
To achieve the same look as my card, I randomly stamp the large butterfly in Bermuda Bay and the small butterfly in Pool Party, trying not to overlap them.

No two cards will be exactly the same, and that's the coolest part of all!

If you'd like to learn how to stamp and die cut the beautiful Blushing Bride and Calypso Coral butterfly that is on the card, please check out that blog post HERE

So, what do you think about making your own stamps?  I know that I can't get enough of these butterflies--stamps and dies--and my class attendees were quite smitten as well.  Every.single.one.of.them bought a set of the Watercolor Wings and Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies bundle (15% savings) as a result!  How could they not?!  And you should too, if you haven't done so already.

Before I go, I'd like to wish my love, Howard, a very happy birthday!  We've got big plans today and all this weekend even though he doesn't like me making a big deal about his birthday.  Until next time, happy crafting!

Candles 'n Birthday Wishes

I am so excited about today's card share!  Why?  Because this Candles 'n Birthday Wishes Card showcases three of my absolute favorite products in the new catalog--the Build a Birthday Stamp Set, Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack, and Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape!

If you haven't fallen head over heals in love with the NEW! Cherry on Top suite of products, then please allow me to help you do so!  As you may already know, I LOVE bright colors, and this suite uses some of my favorite bold and bright colors such as Bermuda Bay (the fave!), Crushed Curry (another fave), Cucumber Crush (my new fave green), Pool Party and Watermelon Wonder.

We made this card in my July Card Class this past Saturday, and my class attendees loved it!  I borrowed my design from a card I saw on Pinterest by Jessica Winter, but I made it my own by using pieces of patterned paper I cut from the Cherry on Top Designer Series Paper Stack.  They're all 3/4" wide and are either 2-1/4", 2-1/2" or 2-3/4" in height.  So fun!

The "hardest" part about putting this card together was aligning the washi tape, and that only took seconds to do.  It's hand-torn and wraps around the back of the card front.

But the best part about this card is that if you need a masculine card, you can change the card base to Bermuda Bay to "man it up" a bit.  That's exactly what I did for Howard's birthday card (my fiancé)...his birthday is this Friday the 17th.  I hope he likes it!

Above are the other two projects we made in class.  I'll share them here tomorrow and on Monday, so be sure to tune in!  Tomorrow, I'll show you how to make your own stamps using the Butterfly Thinlits Dies.  It's a whopper of a share, so don't miss out!

You will find all of the Stampin' Up! products used to create this card below.  Place your order in my Online Store anytime, or click any of the photos below to go right to that item.

Until next time, happy crafting!

Pretty Petals Thank You & A TUTORIAL!

I'm back!  I won't even bother to explain.  Instead, please allow me to share some crafty inspiration with you.

This lovely Pretty Petals Thank You Card was designed by Patty Bennett and was the third and final one we handcrafted at Cindee's way back when :).  It looks complicated, but I assure you it was fast and easy to put together.

Do you see the centers of my flowers?  Guess what those are?!  Those are the White Perfect Accents colored with a black Sharpie marker.  Yeah...just like we colored the Candy Dots on the Wishing You the Very Best Card, we did the same with a black Sharpie on the White Perfect Accents.  Brilliant, right?!

Isn't this card striking?  Here's how to make this card.

THE STEPS ::
  1. Cut a sheet of Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper Stack down to 4" x 5-1/4" and adhere to a Whisper White card base. Set aside.
  2. Die cut a piece of Calypso Coral Cardstock using the largest Lots of Labels Framelits, and die cut a piece of Whisper White Cardstock using the 2nd largest Lots of Labels Framelits.
  3. Stamp "Thank You" from the One Big Meaning Stamp Set in Tuxedo Black Memento Black Ink in the upper right corner of the Whisper White die cut piece.
  4. Stamp the large flower outline in Calypso Coral and fill it with the coordinating fill-in flower stamp in Blushing Bride using the Garden In Bloom Stamp Set.
  5. Stamp the leaf outline in Old Olive and fill it in with the coordinating fill-in leaf stamp in Old Olive also.
  6. Stamp on some splatter in Blushing Bride using the wide splatter stamp in the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set.
  7. Color two large White Perfect Accents (on the acetate sheet) with a black Sharpie marker and add to the center of the flowers.
  8. Adhere the Whisper White sentiment die cut piece to the Calypso Coral die cut piece with Stampin' Dimensionals.  Adhere all of your other pieces with either SNAIL or Fast Fuse.

I love this card!  And I must admit that the Garden In Bloom Stamp Set wasn't on my list of stamp sets to buy, but I had so much fun with it and saw that there are endless crafting possibilities, so I ordered one.  I can't wait to play with the butterfly and bee in this set!

Wishing You the Very Best & A QUICK Tip for Coloring Candy Dots

OMG!  Just where do I begin?!  I was supposed to share this card with you all two weeks ago, but it was so hectic that week, I couldn't make it all happen.  Then, last week, I got sick...really sick...and I'm still on the mend!  All I can say is please beg my pardon, and I hope to make a full recovery soon.

Enough of all that!  I hope you have been crafting to your heart's content with the new products, and I'm delighted that I can share this beautiful Wishing You the Very Best Card with you.  This beauty was also designed by Patty Bennett like the Celebrate Dahlia Card.

For this card, we used the All Boxed Up Stamp Set and the Timeless Elegance Designer Series Paper.  We had our choice of gold or silver Metallic Foil Doilies, and I chose a gold one.

You may also be wondering what color my Candy Dots are in the lower right corner, and they're gold too.  "How did you do that?," you ask.  Well, it was quite easy...I just colored them with a gold Sharpie!

Color Your Unused Candy Dots...
with Sharpies!

If you have Candy Dots in your craft stash, you may find that you just don't use all of the colors.  Well, a Sharpie (in just about any color) will solve that for you!  You can find these beautiful gold, silver and bronze Sharpies at your local office supply store or big box craft store.

Just color your dots on the acetate sheet with a permanent marker...and wallah...you've got the colors you need when you want them!

Metallics are all the rage right now...gold, silver, bronze...so get with the trend!  I hope you like this card and want to make some of your own.  The possibilities are endless with just a handful of supplies!

You will find all of the Stampin' Up! products used to create this card below.  Place your order in my Online Store anytime, or click any of the photos below to go right to that item.

Until next time, happy crafting!
