Are you ready for the coolest thing since the invention of the iPad?! Well, I've got it! How about making your own stamps?! As promised from yesterday, this is a whopper of a post, so, if you can, grab a cup of joe and visit with me for a minute.
My friend Patty Bennett, stamper extraordinaire, shared a card with me and Cindee Wilkinson the other day when we got together to stamp, and I nearly fell out of my chair! When I saw it, I knew it would be perfect for my July Card Class!
The background for this Thank You Butterfly Card was stamped with stamps I made using dies from the Bold Butterfly Framelits and Butterflies Thinlits and some sticky back Fun Foam. Yeah...you're going to want both sets of dies.
THE STEPS ::
- Buy some sticky back Fun Foam sheets from your big box craft store. (I bought mine from Hobby Lobby.)
- Cut a strip to size and die cut just like you would from a sheet of cardstock. (TIP: Because the foam is thicker than paper, I recommend running it through your Big Shot 2-3 times.)
- Remove die cut butterflies from foam strip and use your Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the die cut pieces.
- Remove sticky back and adhere die cut butterflies to Clear Blocks. Tap your stamp in the ink pad 2-4 times and use like any other stamp. You can clean them too!
To achieve the same look as my card, I randomly stamp the large butterfly in Bermuda Bay and the small butterfly in Pool Party, trying not to overlap them.
No two cards will be exactly the same, and that's the coolest part of all!
